What is the difference between NeoForge and Forge, and which should I use?

Forge is the original modloader that dominated Minecraft modding for over a decade. NeoForge is a community fork of Forge that launched in 2023 after a significant dispute with the original Forge developer. As of 2024-2026, the majority of new heavy modpacks including All The Mods 10 (ATM10) and many FTB packs have migrated to NeoForge. If you are starting a new server with a 1.20.1+ pack, NeoForge is almost certainly what you need. Older packs like GTNH (1.7.10) still use Forge. Both are supported with one-click install on Space-Node.

Can I install modpacks from Modrinth as well as CurseForge?

Yes. Our control panel supports one-click installation from both CurseForge and Modrinth. Modrinth has grown rapidly and now hosts many popular Fabric and NeoForge packs that are not on CurseForge. You can also upload any custom modpack server files via SFTP if you prefer to configure it manually.

Where can I get the All The Mods 10 server files?

ATM10 server files are available directly from CurseForge. In our control panel, search for 'All The Mods 10' in the modpack installer and it will download and configure the server files automatically. For manual installation, download the server pack from the ATM10 CurseForge page and upload via SFTP. We recommend the ATM Tier plan (12GB) or ATM Group plan (16GB) for the best experience.

How much RAM do I actually need for ATM10?

All The Mods 10 is one of the most resource-intensive modpacks available. Our tested minimums: 12GB for solo or very small groups (1-5 players), 16GB for groups of 5-15, 20-24GB for 15+ players. The 12GB ATM Tier plan is the absolute minimum - if your budget allows, go for 16GB to avoid JVM garbage collection pauses during heavy worldgen.

Can I pre-generate the world to reduce server lag?

Yes and we highly recommend it. Use Chunky (Fabric/Paper) or Chunk Pregenerator (Forge/NeoForge) to pre-generate a defined area before inviting players. This moves chunk generation work to before gameplay starts. A 5000-block radius pre-gen typically takes 1-3 hours on our nodes. Set it up right after ordering and let it run - your server will be much smoother for players.

What JVM arguments should I use for heavy NeoForge modpacks in 2026?

For NeoForge on Java 21 (modern packs): use Aikar's G1GC flags as the baseline. The ATM10 CurseForge page recommends specific flags for their pack. You can set these in the Startup tab of your Pterodactyl panel under 'JVM arguments'. Can I transfer my existing modpack world from another host?

Yes. Connect to your server via SFTP, upload your world folder to the correct server directory, update the world name in server.properties, and restart. For worlds over 1GB we recommend SFTP over the web file manager. The entire process typically takes 15-30 minutes depending on world size.

Do you support Quilt modloader?

Yes, Quilt is supported. Quilt is compatible with most Fabric mods and is an alternative modloader with some additional features. It is available in the server type selector in your control panel alongside Fabric, NeoForge, and Forge.
