NeoForge
The current community standard for new heavy modpacks. ATM10, Stoneblock 4, and most FTB packs from 1.20.1+ use NeoForge. Full compatibility with most Forge mods. If your pack was released in 2024 or later, it is almost certainly NeoForge.
Forge
Still required for packs like GTNH (1.7.10), RLCraft (1.12.2), and some older FTB packs. Forge has the largest library of existing mods due to its decade-long history. Fully supported on all plans.
Fabric & Modrinth
Fabric hosts performance-focused mods (Sodium, Iris, Lithium) and is growing rapidly on Modrinth. Better MC for Fabric is a popular example. Fabric packs tend to use less RAM than comparable Forge/NeoForge packs.
One-click install from CurseForge and Modrinth
Our Pterodactyl panel includes a built-in modpack search and installer. Choose CurseForge or Modrinth as your source, search by pack name, click install. The panel downloads the correct server files, sets up the modloader, and configures your startup automatically. For custom packs or packs not in the index, use SFTP to upload your server folder.

CPU matters
Minecraft cares about single-thread speed. Premium runs Ryzen 9 9950X. Budget runs Ryzen 9 3900X (7950X3D in California and Virginia, 5950X in Singapore and Australia).
Protection choices
DDoS protection is included on every plan in every region. Premium and the USA locations run behind Cloudflare Magic Transit; Budget, Singapore, Australia and India use standard protection. There is no paid add-on.
