Vault Hunters 3rd Edition Server Hosting
Level up, learn talents and abilities, and raid the Vault, a procedurally generated dungeon full of loot, together with your friends. Pick a plan sized from the pack's own RAM advice, set it up on Forge and Java 17, and play from the region closest to your group. Plans start at €7.20 a month for 8GB (MC Diamond); we suggest 12GB at €10.80.

Sized from the pack's own advice
Which plan fits your Vault Hunters server?
The Vault Hunters team asks players to give the game 8GB, and the official server files set no heap of their own. Java needs memory on top of the heap, so we suggest 12GB and start at 8GB, for the original pack and for Remastered alike. Neither gives player counts: more people running vaults at once need more. In the Netherlands, Germany and Poland, Standard plans run on DDR4 and Premium plans on a Ryzen 9 9950X with DDR5.
Small group
MC Diamond, 8GB RAM
Standard
€7.20/mo
Premium
€13.99/mo
The smallest plan we would run Vault Hunters on. The server files set no heap; on 8GB a heap of about 6.5GB leaves room for Java itself. That is less than the 8GB the pack asks players to give their game, so keep the group small.
Choose 8GBRegular group
MC Special 1, 12GB RAM
Standard
€10.80/mo
Premium
€21.99/mo
Room for an 8GB heap, the same amount the pack asks players to give their game, plus memory for Java and for several players running vaults at the same time.
Choose 12GBBigger group or public server
MC Special 3, 16GB RAM
Standard
€14.40/mo
Premium
€27.99/mo
Room for a heap of 12GB or more when many players are online, each running their own vaults and farms.

MC Special 1
- Ryzen 9 3900XShared CPU
- Regular group, the pack's 8GB as heap
- 12GB RAM
- 70GB NVMe
- Pterodactyl panel included
- DDoS Protection Included
Vault Hunters publishes no player counts or server RAM figure. These sizes follow the 8GB the original pack asks players to give the game, plus memory for Java itself, and apply to Remastered too; more people running vaults at once need more.
3 server port allocations included. Up to 5 available on request.
Instant setup in your selected region.
CPU matters
Minecraft cares about single-thread speed. In the Netherlands, Germany, Poland and Canada, Premium runs Ryzen 9 9950X and Standard Ryzen 9 3900X-class. California and Virginia run the 7950X3D on Standard and the 9950X on Premium, Singapore and Australia the 5950X, and India the 3900X-class. The CPU is shared on every plan.
Protection choices
DDoS protection is included on every plan in every region. Premium in Europe and Canada and every USA plan run behind Cloudflare Magic Transit; Standard, Singapore, Australia and India use standard protection. There is no paid add-on.
Panel included
Console, files, backups, schedules, startup flags, and sub-users are ready.
9 regions
Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Canada, USA (California), USA (Virginia), Singapore, India (Mumbai), and Australia. EU, NA, Asia, South Asia, and Oceania covered.

Setup
From order to first join
Step 1
Pick 8GB or more and a region
We suggest 12GB. Your server and control panel login arrive by email after payment.
Step 2
Install Forge and the server files
Use the panel's modpack installer if it lists the pack. Otherwise install Forge 40.3.11 for Minecraft 1.18.2 from the panel, upload the contents of the server files (Remastered 3.0.1 for a new world, 3.21.7 for an existing one) over SFTP and set Java 17. For Sky Vaults, add level-type=the_vault:sky_vaults to server.properties before the first start. Accept the EULA in eula.txt and start.
Step 3
Match the pack version
Players install the same pack and version as the server in the CurseForge app, Vault Hunters Third Edition Remastered 3.0.1 or Vault Hunters Third Edition 3.21.7, and give it 8192 MB of memory, as the original pack asks.
Running the server
Vault Hunters things worth knowing before you start
The server files set no heap
The setup scripts leave JVM_ARGS empty and only read the lines in user_jvm_args.txt. If your server starts through them, add an -Xmx line there to fit your plan, for example -Xmx8G on 12GB, and keep at least 1.5GB free for Java itself.
Sky Vaults or a normal world
Both packs have a skyblock playthrough called Sky Vaults. The world type is set when the world is created, so choose before the first start: level-type=the_vault:sky_vaults for Sky Vaults (in the original pack with the Terralith jar disabled), or the default for a normal world.
Backups every two hours of play, up to 25 GB
SimpleBackups ships with the server files of both packs. By default it zips the world every 120 minutes while players are online, keeps 10 and lets them grow to 25 GB. That is more than half of the 45GB disk on our 8GB Standard plan, so lower maxDiskSize in config/simplebackups-common.toml.
Tech mods unlock later
Create, Mekanism, Applied Energistics 2 and Refined Storage are in the pack, but players unlock mods through research as they level up. The farms and machines they build later add load, so a server that runs fine in week one can need more room after a month.
Two packs, one game
The original Third Edition is on its final update (3.21.7, 28 July 2026) and stays the pack for existing worlds. New releases go to Remastered, a separate pack for new worlds (3.0.1, 15 October 2026). Not every release gets server files (Remastered 2.0.3 had none), so check Additional Files before you update, and back up first.
spark is already in the pack
The server files ship spark, so you can see which mod, entity or chunk is slowing the server down, for example while several players run vaults, without installing anything.

Vault Hunters Hosting FAQ
- The Vault Hunters team asks players to set 8192 MB (8GB) in the CurseForge app, and the official server files set no Java heap of their own. We size the server from that figure: 12GB (MC Special 1) holds an 8GB heap with room for Java itself. 8GB (MC Diamond) is the smallest we would use, with a heap of about 6.5GB, and 16GB suits a bigger group that runs many vaults at the same time. Remastered publishes no RAM figure of its own; its server files hold 164 mods against 151 and also set no heap, so we size both packs the same way. Neither publishes player counts.
- Both the original Vault Hunters 3rd Edition (3.21.7) and Remastered (3.0.1) run on Minecraft 1.18.2 with Forge 40.3.11. The setup scripts in their server files look for Java 17, which is also what Minecraft 1.18.2 itself needs. You can pick the Java version in the Startup tab of the panel.
- For a new world, Remastered. The team made it for fresh starts: it keeps the full Vault Hunters 3 game, with vault progression, custom gear and bosses, talents and abilities, the artifact hunt and the Greed end game, on a reworked mod list, and Regions Unexplored replaces Terralith for world generation. Keep an existing world on the original pack, which still runs and is what the team keeps for old worlds; Remastered is not meant to update them. Both use the same loader and Java, so the same plans fit.
- On each pack's CurseForge page: open the Files tab, pick the version and look under Additional Files. For the original pack that is Vault-Hunters-3rd-Edition-3.21.7-server-files.zip (about 271 MB), for Remastered Vault-Hunters-3rd-Edition-remastered-3.0.1-server-files.zip (about 289 MB). Both hold the mods, config, defaultconfigs and scripts folders plus setup scripts for Linux and Windows (vh-setup-unix.sh and vh-setup.bat), which download and install Forge 40.3.11 when it is missing.
- Sky Vaults is the skyblock playthrough, in both packs. On the first start, the setup script asks whether you want it and writes level-type=the_vault:sky_vaults into server.properties; in the original pack it also renames the Terralith jar in mods to .disabled for a Sky Vaults world (Remastered has no Terralith). If your server does not start through that script, add the line to server.properties yourself before the world is created, and in the original pack disable Terralith too.
- Yes. The server files of both packs include SimpleBackups. With its default settings it zips the world every 120 minutes while players are online, keeps the last 10 and lets the simplebackups folder grow to 25 GB. That counts against your plan's storage (45GB on the 8GB Standard plan), so lower maxDiskSize or backupsToKeep in config/simplebackups-common.toml. Still take a backup from the panel before an update.
- Yes, the same pack and version as the server: Vault Hunters Third Edition 3.21.7 or Vault Hunters Third Edition Remastered 3.0.1, installed in the CurseForge app. The two are separate packs with different mods, so a player on one cannot join a server that runs the other. Better Compatibility Checker shows in the server list whether the versions match; the original 3.21.7 still reports 3.21.6 there, so that label is expected, and Remastered reports 3.0.1.
- The original Third Edition is on its final update, Update 21, last released as 3.21.7 on 28 July 2026, with nothing newer when we checked on 25 October 2026. The team continues in Vault Hunters Third Edition Remastered, a separate pack for new worlds: 8 releases since 22 April 2026, the newest 3.0.1 from 15 October 2026 with its own server files.

- The one closest to most of your players. We run Vault Hunters capable servers in the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Canada, the USA (California and Virginia), Singapore, India and Australia. The plan selector measures your ping to each region live from your browser and suggests the fastest.
