Enshrouded uses a Proton compatibility layer that we pre-configure on our Linux servers. You do not need to install or configure Proton yourself. The server binary runs through Proton automatically.

Enshrouded supports up to 16 players per dedicated server. This is a game engine limit. Our higher tiers provide more RAM for larger worlds, not more player slots.

How much RAM does an Enshrouded server need?

A small group in early zones runs on 4GB. A growing group with bases across biomes is comfortable on 8 to 12GB. A full 16-player world with extensive building benefits from 16GB or more.
