Sized from the pack's own advice
Which plan fits your RLCraft server?
RLCraft's author asks players to give the game 3 to 4GB of RAM, and his own launcher settings use -Xmx4G. The server pack sets no heap of its own, so we size a server from that figure plus memory for Java itself. That makes RLCraft one of the lighter packs on RAM. The pack gives no player counts for servers; its server notes only ask for a pregenerated world once more than 10 players will play. Standard plans run on DDR4, Premium plans on faster CPUs with DDR5.
A few friends
MC Gold, 5GB RAM
Standard
€4.50/mo
Premium
€8.75/mo
The smallest plan we would run RLCraft on: room for the 4GB heap the pack's author uses, with about 1GB left for Java itself.
Choose 5GBA regular group
MC Lapis, 6GB RAM
Standard
€5.40/mo
Premium
€10.50/mo
The same 4GB heap with 2GB left for Java. That leaves headroom for the mobs, dungeons and fresh chunks a group runs into once it spreads out.
Choose 6GBBigger group or public server
MC Diamond, 8GB RAM
Standard
€7.20/mo
Premium
€13.99/mo
Room for a bigger heap when more people are online at once, each loading their own chunks and mobs. Past 10 players the pack's server notes ask you to pregenerate a 10,000 block radius first.
Choose 8GBPrices for the Netherlands, Germany and Poland. Other regions are in the plan selector below.

MC Lapis
- Ryzen 9 3900XShared CPU
- A regular group, 4GB heap plus room for Java
- 6GB RAM
- 40GB NVMe
- Pterodactyl panel included
- DDoS Protection Included
RLCraft publishes no player counts for servers. These sizes follow the 3 to 4GB its author asks players to give the game, plus memory for Java itself. More people online need more.
3 server port allocations included. Up to 5 available on request.
Instant setup in your selected region.
CPU matters
Minecraft cares about single-thread speed. In the Netherlands, Germany, Poland and Canada, Premium runs Ryzen 9 7950X or 9950X (depending on stock) and Standard Ryzen 9 3900X-class. California and Virginia run the 7950X3D, Singapore and Australia the 5950X, and India the 3900X-class. The CPU is shared on every plan.
Protection choices
DDoS protection is included on every plan in every region. Premium and the USA locations run behind Cloudflare Magic Transit; Standard, Singapore, Australia and India use standard protection. There is no paid add-on.
Panel included
Console, files, backups, schedules, startup flags, and sub-users are ready.
9 regions
Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Canada, USA (California), USA (Virginia), Singapore, India (Mumbai), and Australia. EU, NA, Asia, South Asia, and Oceania covered.

Setup
From order to first join
Step 1
Pick 5GB or more and a region
We suggest 6GB. Your server and control panel login arrive by email after payment.
Step 2
Install Forge, then the server pack
Install Forge 14.23.5.2860 for Minecraft 1.12.2 from the panel. Upload the contents of the server pack over SFTP, set Java 8, start once, accept the EULA in eula.txt and start again.
Step 3
Check server.properties, match the version
Keep allow-flight=true, difficulty=3, max-tick-time=-1 and enable-command-block=true; the pack's own server.properties already has them. Players install RLCraft 2.9.3 in the CurseForge app.
Running the server
RLCraft things worth knowing before you start
Four server.properties lines matter
enable-command-block=true lets villagers spawn in generated structures. allow-flight=true stops the server from kicking players on flying mounts or near a fairy ring. difficulty=3 is the hard mode RLCraft is balanced around, and max-tick-time=-1 keeps Forge from shutting the server down while a big structure generates.
Pregenerate before a big group joins
The pack's server notes ask anyone running more than 10 players to pregenerate a 10,000 block radius. They use the Chunk Pregenerator mod, which is not in the server pack: add its jar to mods, run the commands from the notes in the console, ending with /pregen gen startradius square 0 0 b10000, and restart when it is done. /pregen utils setPlayerLimit 1 pauses it while people are online.
View distance 10, and never below 6
The notes ask for view-distance=10 for full compatibility, and the pack's server.properties ships with it. If many players cause lag, lower it to 8 or 6, but not below 6.
spark is already in the server pack
spark-forge.jar (spark 1.6.3) ships in the mods folder, so you can profile which mods and methods use the server's tick time without adding anything.
The pack has no backup mod
Nothing in the server pack makes backups on its own. Take a backup from the panel before you change configs, add a mod or move an older world over; the 2.9.3 changelog also says to always make backups.
Long-running servers
The 2.9.3 changelog says 2.9 and later no longer need frequent restarts to clear memory, though it still recommends one now and then, just in case. On very large servers that have run for months, the notes suggest deleting Village.dat in the world folder now and then, because it can grow until it leaks memory and causes lag spikes.

RLCraft Hosting FAQ
- RLCraft's author asks players to give the game 3 to 4GB of RAM, and the 2.9.3 changelog says a client should not get more than 4GB. The server pack sets no heap of its own. We size a server from that figure plus memory for Java itself: MC Gold (5GB) is the smallest we would use, MC Lapis (6GB) is our suggestion for a regular group, and MC Diamond (8GB) suits a bigger group or a public server. The pack gives no player counts for servers.
- RLCraft 2.9.3 ships with Forge 14.23.5.2860 for Minecraft 1.12.2. The pack page asks for build 2860 or newer because of the Log4j exploit and recommends the latest Forge, which was 2860 when the pack was last updated. The newest build is now 14.23.5.2864, but 2861 and later only came out in late 2025, and Forge's changelog lists only build tooling changes and one error message fix for them. Forge's own "recommended" build for 1.12.2 is 14.23.5.2859, one below the pack's minimum, so pick 14.23.5.2860 by its number. Minecraft 1.12.2 runs on Java 8, and you can pick the Java version in the Startup tab of the panel.
- On the RLCraft CurseForge page: open the Files tab, pick 2.9.3 and look under Additional Files for "RLCraft Server Pack 1.12.2 - Release v2.9.3.zip" (about 334 MB). It holds the config, mods, resourcepacks, resources, scripts and structures folders with 178 mod jars, plus a server.properties and a note for server owners. There is no Forge installer and no start script in it. The client install pulls 187 files from CurseForge, so build the server from the server pack, not from a copy of your game folder.
- Yes. Everyone needs RLCraft 2.9.3, the same as the server. It has been the newest version on CurseForge since 27 June 2023 (checked on 3 October 2026), so nobody has to keep up with frequent pack updates. Players install it in the CurseForge app, which the pack page calls the easiest way. Anyone adding Optifine needs G5 or later: the pack page warns that the older E3 build crashes.
- Worlds from 2.9 and 2.9.1c mostly work on 2.9.3. The changelog asks you to run /bq_admin default load and /bqs_loot default load to update quests and loot tables, and a server also needs /fml confirm on its first boot. New structures only appear in chunks that have not generated yet. Worlds from 2.8.2 do not work on 2.9 or later, and the pack's author recommends new worlds and backups either way. Upload the world folder over SFTP and set level-name in server.properties to its folder name; the pack's own file uses World.
- Most likely enable-command-block is still false. The pack says servers must set enable-command-block=true in server.properties, or certain structures will not generate correctly and will be missing villagers. The server.properties in the server pack already has it on. If your server wrote its own file before you uploaded the pack, check this line, and set it before players start exploring.
- The one closest to most of your players. We run RLCraft capable servers in the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Canada, USA (California and Virginia), Singapore, India and Australia. The plan selector measures your ping to each region and suggests the fastest.
