CPU matters
Minecraft cares about single-thread speed. Premium runs Ryzen 9 9950X. Budget runs Ryzen 9 3900X (7950X3D in California and Virginia, 5950X in Singapore and Australia).
Protection choices
DDoS protection is included on every plan in every region. Premium and the USA locations run behind Cloudflare Magic Transit; Budget, Singapore, Australia and India use standard protection. There is no paid add-on.

Setup
From order to first catch
Step 1
Pick a plan and region
Choose the region closest to your group. Your server and control panel login arrive by email after payment.
Step 2
Install Cobblemon
Search your pack in the Modrinth or CurseForge installer and click install. Running plain Cobblemon? Pick Fabric or NeoForge 1.21.1 and drop the Cobblemon jar in the mods folder.
Step 3
Share the address
Send your friends the server address. They install the same Cobblemon version or modpack, join, and pick a starter.
Cobblemon 1.8, Make Your Move
What 1.8 changes for server owners
Cobblemon 1.8 came out in September 2026. Most of the new content is great for players; these are the parts that affect how you run the server.
Alpha Pokémon
Bigger, stronger spawns that always lead herds and know a TM move. More entities per herd, so keep an eye on TPS during busy evenings.
TMs and the TM Machine
Server owners get two new config options: make TMs infinite-use, or unlock every TM recipe from the start. There is also a new /givetm command.
Habitat Block
A spawner block made for servers and adventure maps that controls which Pokémon spawn in an area. Useful for spawn hubs and event zones.
49 habitat structures
They only generate in new chunks. On an existing world you will find them past the terrain your players already explored.
Per-world spawning switch
You can now turn off Pokémon spawning for a single world, handy for a lobby or a creative build world.
Advancements reset
1.8 refactored advancements, so everything except the starter advancement resets. Tell your players before you update.
