VPS for AI agents and coding tools

Run Claude Code, Codex CLI, OpenClaw or n8n on a KVM VPS in the EU that stays on when your laptop sleeps. The model runs at Anthropic, OpenAI or Google; your VPS runs the agent, its tools and your files.

4 GB for Claude Code from €5.50 a month. Plans start at €4.20, VAT included.

Every plan: KVM with full root access, DDoS protection, NVMe storage and an EU data center. Prices include VAT; checkout shows the total for your country. Monthly billing, cancel in the client area. Pay yearly in the shop and save at least 10%. Every size from 2 GB to 48 GB is on the VPS hosting page.

Quick answer: Space-Node sells KVM VPS plans in an EU data center for AI agents and coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex CLI, OpenClaw and n8n. The model runs at the AI company; the VPS runs the tool, your code and your files, so no GPU is needed. VPS-XS Premium (2 GB RAM, AMD Ryzen 9 9950X) costs €4.20 a month for a light agent, VPS-S Standard (4 GB, AMD EPYC 7452) €5.50 for one coding agent, VPS-M Standard (8 GB) €11.10 for two or three agents, and VPS-M Premium (8 GB, AMD Ryzen 9 9950X) €16.80 for agents that build and test code. Prices include VAT, billing is monthly, and every plan has full root access, dedicated RAM, shared vCores and DDoS protection.

How it works

  1. Order a plan

Pick a plan above. On Premium plans you choose the operating system in the order form, where Ubuntu 24.04 LTS is marked as recommended. Standard checkouts have no OS step: for a specific OS on a Standard plan, open a ticket after your order. After payment we set up your server, and the login details appear in your client area and in your email.

  2. Install your agent

Log in over SSH and run the tool's own installer, then sign in with your own account or API key.

    # Claude Codecurl -fsSL https://claude.ai/install.sh | bash# Codex CLIcurl -fsSL https://chatgpt.com/codex/install.sh | sh# OpenClawcurl -fsSL https://openclaw.ai/install.sh | bash
  3. Leave it running

Start the agent in tmux with tmux new -s agent, or let OpenClaw set up its own service with openclaw onboard --install-daemon. Close your laptop: the session keeps running on the VPS. Check in over SSH, or follow a Claude Code session from claude.ai/code or the Claude app with Remote Control (opens in a new tab) (Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise plan).

What people run on it

A coding agent that keeps going

Give Claude Code or Codex CLI a task in tmux and close the laptop. It keeps working on your repo on the VPS.

Plan: VPS-S Standard, €5.50 a month

An always-on personal agent

OpenClaw, Hermes Agent and similar gateways run as a service and reply in the chat apps you connect. OpenClaw's own guide runs it on 1 GB with swap and suggests 2 GB when memory runs out.

Plan: VPS-XS Premium, €4.20 a month

n8n with AI steps

Self-host n8n with Docker for your own workflows and call AI models from them, next to your agent.

Plan: VPS-S Standard or VPS-M Standard

An AI bot for your community

A Discord or Telegram bot that calls an AI API needs little memory. For one bot on its own, Discord bot hosting is the cheaper route.

What this VPS does not do

  • It does not run the model. Claude, GPT and other models run at the AI company, on your own plan or API key.
  • No GPU. Ollama can run small models on the CPU, but we have not measured their speed on these plans, and an agent should use the AI company's API.
  • No one-click install yet. You run each tool's own installer, one line per tool.
  • Your AI plan's limits still apply. Claude Pro and Max have a five-hour session limit and a weekly limit, and ChatGPT plans have their own. A VPS does not lift them.
  • Shared vCores. The RAM in your plan is dedicated to your VPS; the vCores are shared with other VPSes on the node.
  • Backups are not included. Keep your code in git and push often.
  • You run the software. You install and manage the tools yourself with full root access. Questions about the VPS? Our team answers every day from 08:00 to 20:00 UTC.

Questions about running AI agents on a VPS

Does the AI model run on your servers?
No. Claude, GPT and the other models run at the AI company, such as Anthropic, OpenAI or Google. Your VPS runs the tool that talks to the model, like Claude Code, Codex CLI or OpenClaw, plus your code, files and services. That is why these tools need no GPU and fit on a small VPS.
Which plan do I need for Claude Code?
Claude Code lists 4 GB of RAM as its minimum, so start with VPS-S: €5.50 a month on Standard or €8.40 on Premium. Take VPS-M with 8 GB for two or three sessions, or for Docker or n8n next to the agent. Choose Premium, with the Ryzen 9 9950X, when the agent compiles code and runs test suites. One OpenClaw gateway on API models fits VPS-XS with 2 GB.
Which AI account do I need?
Your own. Claude Code needs a Claude Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise or Console account; it does not work on the free Claude plan. Codex CLI works with a ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise plan, or an OpenAI API key. The usage limits of your plan or key apply on the VPS too. Space-Node does not sell AI usage, and none comes with the VPS.
How do I sign in on a server without a browser?
Claude Code shows a sign-in link. Open it on your own phone or computer, sign in, and paste the code you get into the terminal on the VPS. For Codex CLI, turn on device code login in your ChatGPT security settings and run codex login --device-auth. For scripts and scheduled jobs, use an API key instead of a plan login.
Does my agent keep running when I close my laptop?
Yes, as long as its process runs on the VPS. Start it inside tmux, or as a service: openclaw onboard --install-daemon sets up a systemd service for OpenClaw. With Claude Code Remote Control, on a Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise plan, you can follow and steer that session from claude.ai/code or the Claude app. The agent stops making progress when your plan's usage limit is reached or its sign-in expires, until the limit resets or you sign in again.
Can I use OpenClaw with Claude or ChatGPT?
Yes, with an API key: give OpenClaw an API key from Anthropic or OpenAI. For Claude models, OpenClaw's own docs (opens in a new tab) advise an Anthropic API key for new setups, because token logins expire and can be revoked. The usage and prices of the account you connect apply; Space-Node does not sell AI usage.
How do I keep the VPS and my accounts safe?
Log in with SSH keys and keep the system updated. Keep the OpenClaw gateway on loopback, as its docs (opens in a new tab) advise, and reach its dashboard through an SSH tunnel or Tailscale instead of opening port 18789 to the internet. Treat ~/.codex/auth.json and your API keys like passwords. Only install skills and plugins you trust, because an agent can run commands on your server.
Which operating system should I pick, and can I use Windows?
On a Premium plan, pick Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, the image the order form marks as recommended, or Debian 13. Standard checkouts have no OS step: for a specific OS on a Standard plan, open a ticket after your order. Claude Code supports Ubuntu 20.04 and Debian 10 or newer. On Ubuntu 24.04 and later, Claude Code's sandbox needs an AppArmor profile for bubblewrap; its sandboxing docs (opens in a new tab) show the steps. Need Windows Server?
