It offers significantly better TPS (ticks per second) than vanilla Minecraft by applying hundreds of optimizations to the game loop, chunk loading, and entity handling. If you run plugins or have more than 5 players, Paper is almost always the right choice over vanilla.

Space-Node supports all Bukkit, Spigot, and Paper plugins. The number you can run depends on RAM. A 3GB server handles 10-20 lightweight plugins. A 6-8GB server runs 50-100 plugins including heavy ones like EssentialsX, WorldGuard, WorldEdit, and economy plugins. There is no hard limit - it depends on what the plugins demand.

Yes. Paper is fully backward-compatible with all Bukkit and Spigot plugins. Any plugin listed on SpigotMC, Hangar, or Modrinth that targets Spigot or Bukkit will work on Paper. Paper also has its own API extensions that let plugins squeeze even more performance.

What is the difference between Paper, Spigot, Purpur, and Vanilla?

Vanilla is the unmodified Mojang server - no plugins, limited performance. Spigot is the original plugin-enabled fork, now largely superseded. Paper builds on Spigot with major performance patches and is the community standard for plugin servers. Purpur builds on Paper and adds even more gameplay configuration options. Yes. PaperMC uses the same world format as vanilla and Spigot, so you can switch server types from our control panel without any world conversion. Just stop the server, change the server type in the Startup tab, and restart.
