Better MC (BMC4) Server Hosting
Better MC adds new structures, bosses, The Aether and 100+ quests, and it still plays like Minecraft. Pick a plan sized from the server pack's own settings, run it on Forge and Java 17, and play from the region closest to your group. Plans start at €5.40 a month for 6GB (MC Lapis); we suggest 8GB at €7.20.

Sized from the server pack
Which plan fits your Better MC server?
The BMC4 server pack gives Java a 4GB heap. Java needs memory on top of the heap, so we start Better MC at 6GB and suggest 8GB, which lets the heap grow when more people explore. The pack gives no player counts. In the Netherlands, Germany and Poland, Standard plans run on DDR4 and Premium plans on a Ryzen 9 9950X with DDR5.
Fresh world
MC Lapis, 6GB RAM
Standard
€5.40/mo
Premium
€10.50/mo
The smallest plan we would run Better MC on: room for the 4GB heap the server pack sets, with about 2GB left for Java itself. Enough for a small group starting a new world.
Choose 6GBGrowing world
MC Diamond, 8GB RAM
Standard
€7.20/mo
Premium
€13.99/mo
Lets you raise the heap to about 6.5GB once more people explore at the same time and the pack's structure mods generate new terrain in several places at once.
Choose 8GBBigger group or public server
MC Special 1, 12GB RAM
Standard
€10.80/mo
Premium
€21.99/mo
Room for a heap of about 10GB when many players are online and more of the world stays loaded at the same time.

MC Diamond
- Ryzen 9 3900XShared CPU
- Growing world, heap up to 6.5GB
- 8GB RAM
- 45GB NVMe
- Pterodactyl panel included
- DDoS Protection Included
Better MC publishes no player counts or server RAM figure. These sizes start from the 4GB heap its server pack sets, plus memory for Java itself; more people online need more.
3 server port allocations included. Up to 5 available on request.
Instant setup in your selected region.
CPU matters
Minecraft cares about single-thread speed. In the Netherlands, Germany, Poland and Canada, Premium runs Ryzen 9 9950X and Standard Ryzen 9 3900X-class. California and Virginia run the 7950X3D on Standard and the 9950X on Premium, Singapore and Australia the 5950X, and India the 3900X-class. The CPU is shared on every plan.
Protection choices
DDoS protection is included on every plan in every region. Premium in Europe and Canada and every USA plan run behind Cloudflare Magic Transit; Standard, Singapore, Australia and India use standard protection. There is no paid add-on.
Panel included
Console, files, backups, schedules, startup flags, and sub-users are ready.
9 regions
Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Canada, USA (California), USA (Virginia), Singapore, India (Mumbai), and Australia. EU, NA, Asia, South Asia, and Oceania covered.

Setup
From order to first join
Step 1
Pick 6GB or more and a region
We suggest 8GB. Your server and control panel login arrive by email after payment.
Step 2
Install Forge, then the server pack
Use the panel's modpack installer if it lists the pack. Otherwise install Forge 47.4.20 for Minecraft 1.20.1 from the panel, unpack BMC4_ServerPack_v62.zip, upload its contents over SFTP, set Java 17, start once, accept the EULA in eula.txt and start again.
Step 3
Match the pack version
Players install Better MC [FORGE] BMC4 v62 or v62hf in the CurseForge app. Better Compatibility Checker shows in the server list whether their version matches the server.
Running the server
Better MC things worth knowing before you start
The server pack caps Java at 4GB
variables.txt sets JAVA_ARGS to -Xmx4G -Xms4G, and the start script writes the same line into user_jvm_args.txt. On 8GB and up, raise -Xmx so the server can use the RAM you pay for, and keep at least 1.5GB free for Java itself.
v62hf has no server pack, v62 does
The v62hf hotfix only removed Sodium/Embeddium Options Mod Compat, a client video settings mod that the v62 server pack already ships disabled. Run the v62 server pack; players on v62hf can join it.
Updates come about once a month
Between 23 June and 9 October 2026 the pack had 5 releases, and v62 alone added 8 mods and updated 51. The server pack has no backup mod, so take a backup from the panel before each update and read the changelog first.
Land claims and quests come with it
Open Parties and Claims is part of the server pack, so players can claim land around their builds and form parties without adding mods. FTB Quests runs the pack's quest book on the server too.
spark is already in the pack
The server pack ships spark, so you can see which mod, entity or chunk is slowing the server down without installing anything.
Do not copy your client mods folder
The pack page counts 350+ mods. 58 of them only matter on the player's side and ship disabled in the server pack, which loads 318. Always build the server from the official server pack.

Better MC Hosting FAQ
- The BMC4 server pack sets a 4GB Java heap, and Java needs memory on top of the heap, so 6GB (MC Lapis) is the smallest plan we would run it on. We suggest 8GB (MC Diamond), so the heap can grow to about 6.5GB when several people explore at once, and 12GB (MC Special 1) for a public server. The pack publishes no player counts and no server RAM figure.
- The server pack's variables.txt sets JAVA_ARGS to -Xmx4G -Xms4G, and its start script also writes those arguments into user_jvm_args.txt. If your server starts through that script, Java never uses more than 4GB, whatever the plan size. Raise -Xmx and -Xms in variables.txt to fit your plan and keep at least 1.5GB free for Java itself, for example -Xmx6G on 8GB.
- BMC4 runs on Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge 47.4.20, and the server pack recommends Java 17, which is also what Minecraft 1.20.1 itself needs. BMC5 is a separate pack on NeoForge 21.1.250 for Minecraft 1.21.1 and needs Java 21. You can pick the Java version in the Startup tab of the panel.
- On the BMC4 CurseForge page: open the Files tab, pick v62 and look under Additional Files for BMC4_ServerPack_v62.zip (about 1 GB). It holds the mods, config and defaultconfigs folders, variables.txt and start scripts for Linux and Windows. Unpack it and upload the contents to your server over SFTP.
- The newest one with a server pack. On 25 October 2026 that was v62 from 6 October 2026: v62hf came out on 9 October 2026 without one. The hotfix only removed Sodium/Embeddium Options Mod Compat, a client video settings mod that the v62 server pack already ships disabled, so the server side of both versions is the same and players on either one can join. Better Compatibility Checker reports v62 for both in the server list.
- BMC4 is far more popular: 18.8 million downloads on CurseForge against 3.0 million for BMC5 on 25 October 2026, and it runs on Minecraft 1.20.1. BMC5 runs on Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge and Java 21; its newest version, v53 from 8 September 2026, has its own server pack, which also sets a 4GB heap, so the same plan sizes apply. Your players need the edition and version the server runs, and the two are separate packs, so plan on a new world if you switch.
- No. The server pack contains no backup mod. Take a backup from the panel before every update and before you change mods or configs, so you can roll the world back if something breaks.
- Yes. Our support team answers by live chat, Discord and email, 12/7 from 08:00 to 20:00 UTC. If you are moving a Better MC world from another host, add the One-time Server Migration when you order: it costs €15, charged once, and our team moves the world for you.
- The one closest to most of your players. We run Better MC capable servers in the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Canada, the USA (California and Virginia), Singapore, India and Australia. The plan selector measures your ping to each region live from your browser and suggests the fastest.
