DawnCraft Server Hosting
DawnCraft: Echoes of Legends is a souls-like RPG modpack with dozens of bosses, hundreds of new structures and a full quest line. Pick a plan sized from the pack's own RAM advice, set it up on Forge and Java 17, and play from the region closest to your group. Plans start at €7.20 a month for 8GB (MC Diamond); we suggest 12GB at €10.80.

Sized from the pack's own advice
Which plan fits your DawnCraft server?
The pack page asks for at least 6GB of RAM and recommends 8 to 12GB, and the server pack's readme suggests an 8GB heap. Java needs memory on top of the heap, so we suggest 12GB and start at 8GB. The pack gives no player counts. In the Netherlands, Germany and Poland, Standard plans run on DDR4 and Premium plans on a Ryzen 9 9950X with DDR5.
Small group
MC Diamond, 8GB RAM
Standard
€7.20/mo
Premium
€13.99/mo
The smallest plan we would run DawnCraft on: room for a 6GB heap, the least the pack page asks for, with 2GB left for Java itself.
Choose 8GBRegular group
MC Special 1, 12GB RAM
Standard
€10.80/mo
Premium
€21.99/mo
Room for the 8GB heap in the JVM flags the server pack's readme suggests, the low end of the 8 to 12GB the pack page recommends, plus memory for Java.
Choose 12GBBigger group
MC Special 3, 16GB RAM
Standard
€14.40/mo
Premium
€27.99/mo
Room for a 12GB heap, the top of the pack's advice. The pack page calls anything above that a bit overboard, so we would not go bigger.
Choose 16GBPrices for the Netherlands, Germany and Poland. Other regions are in the plan selector below.

- Ryzen 9 3900XShared CPU
- Regular group, 8GB heap
- 12GB RAM
- 70GB NVMe
- Pterodactyl panel included
- DDoS Protection Included
DawnCraft publishes no player counts. These sizes follow the pack page (at least 6GB, 8 to 12GB recommended) and the 8GB heap in the server pack's readme, plus memory for Java itself.
3 server port allocations included. Up to 5 available on request.
Instant setup in your selected region.
CPU matters
Minecraft cares about single-thread speed. In the Netherlands, Germany, Poland and Canada, Premium runs Ryzen 9 9950X and Standard Ryzen 9 3900X-class. California and Virginia run the 7950X3D on Standard and the 9950X on Premium, Singapore and Australia the 5950X, and India the 3900X-class. The CPU is shared on every plan.
Protection choices
DDoS protection is included on every plan in every region. Premium in Europe and Canada and every USA plan run behind Cloudflare Magic Transit; Standard, Singapore, Australia and India use standard protection. There is no paid add-on.
Panel included
Console, files, backups, schedules, startup flags, and sub-users are ready.
9 regions
Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Canada, USA (California), USA (Virginia), Singapore, India (Mumbai), and Australia. EU, NA, Asia, South Asia, and Oceania covered.

Setup
From order to first join
Step 1
Pick 8GB or more and a region
We suggest 12GB. Your server and control panel login arrive by email after payment.
Step 2
Install Forge, then the server pack
Use the panel's modpack installer if it lists the pack. Otherwise install Forge 40.2.17 for Minecraft 1.18.2 from the panel, start once, accept the EULA in eula.txt and stop, as the readme says. Then upload every folder from the 2.0.16_hf server pack over SFTP, set Java 17 and start again.
Step 3
Pregenerate, then play
Run chunky radius and chunky start in the console before your group starts exploring, and set view and simulation distance to 6. Players install DawnCraft 2.0.16_hf in the CurseForge app.
Running the server
DawnCraft things worth knowing before you start
The start script caps Java at 4GB
variables.txt sets JAVA_ARGS to -Xmx4G -Xms4G, below the pack's own 6GB minimum, and start.sh copies it into user_jvm_args.txt on every start. If your server starts through start.sh, raise JAVA_ARGS in variables.txt to fit your plan.
Pregenerate before you explore
The readme warns that the pack has many world generation mods and highly recommends pregenerating. Chunky ships with the server pack and its config picks a run back up after a restart, so you can start it and leave it going.
View and simulation distance 6
That is what the readme asks for. If the server peaks in RAM or CPU use, it suggests a simulation distance of 3 or 4 next.
Backups every two hours of play, up to 25 GB
SimpleBackups is set to a backup every 120 minutes while players are online, keeping 10 and up to 25 GB. That is about a third of the 70GB disk on our 12GB Standard plan, so lower maxDiskSize in config/simplebackups-common.toml if you need the room.
Mobs far from players stop moving
The pack includes Does Potato Tick, set so that mobs more than 86 blocks from every player sideways, or 48 up or down, stop ticking. Bosses and a few mods are on its whitelist. Build farms that need moving mobs close to where players are.
Keep the DawnCraft data pack
The pack page warns that removing Dawncraft_Resources or Dawncraft_Datapack causes bugs. On the server the data pack sits in global_packs/required_data, so leave that folder as it is when you change mods.

DawnCraft Hosting FAQ
- The pack page asks for at least 6GB of RAM and recommends 8 to 12GB, and the server pack's readme suggests JVM flags with an 8GB heap. Java needs memory on top of the heap, so we suggest 12GB (MC Special 1). 8GB (MC Diamond) is the smallest we would use, with a 6GB heap, and 16GB fits a 12GB heap, the top of the pack's range. The pack publishes no player counts.
- The server pack's variables.txt sets JAVA_ARGS to -Xmx4G -Xms4G, and its start.sh writes that line into user_jvm_args.txt on every start. If your server starts through start.sh, change JAVA_ARGS in variables.txt, not user_jvm_args.txt, for example to -Xmx8G -Xms8G on 12GB.
- DawnCraft 2.0.16_hf runs on Minecraft 1.18.2 with Forge 40.2.17; the client pack and the server pack both say so. The pack page asks for Java 17 or 18 and warns that other versions can cause crashes, and Minecraft 1.18.2 itself needs Java 17. You can pick the Java version in the Startup tab of the panel.
- On the DawnCraft CurseForge page: open the Files tab, pick 2.0.16_hf and look under Additional Files for DawnCraft 2.0.16_hf Serverpack.zip (about 754 MB). Its readme says to install Forge 1.18.2 40.2.17 first, start the server once and close it, and then copy every folder from the server pack into the server.
- Yes. The readme says the pack has many world generation mods and highly recommends pregenerating before you play. Chunky is already in the server pack: set a radius with chunky radius in the console and run chunky start. The pack's Chunky config picks a pregeneration back up after a restart.
- The readme asks for a view distance and a simulation distance of 6, and to lower the simulation distance to 3 or 4 if the server runs short on RAM or CPU. Both settings are in server.properties.
- Yes. SimpleBackups is in the server pack, set to a backup every 120 minutes while players are online, the last 10 kept and up to 25 GB in the simplebackups folder. That counts against your plan's storage (70GB on the 12GB Standard plan), so lower maxDiskSize in config/simplebackups-common.toml if you need the space. The readme suggests deleting the mod only if your host already backs up the world on its own. Backups in our panel are made by hand, so we would keep it.
- The newest release is 2.0.16_hf from 20 November 2025, a hotfix two days after 2.0.16, and CurseForge had nothing newer when we checked on 25 October 2026. Its server pack is there, so a new server can start on it today. The readme recommends a new world when you move from a 1.x version to 2.x.
- Yes, 2.0.16_hf on both sides. Players install it in the CurseForge app. Better Compatibility Checker in the pack shows in the server list whether the versions match, and it reports 2.0.16 for this release.
- Yes. Our support team answers by live chat, Discord and email, 12/7 from 08:00 to 20:00 UTC. If you are moving a DawnCraft world from another host, add the One-time Server Migration when you order: it costs €15, charged once, and our team moves the world for you.
- The one closest to most of your players. We run DawnCraft capable servers in the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Canada, the USA (California and Virginia), Singapore, India and Australia. The plan selector measures your ping to each region live from your browser and suggests the fastest.
