DeceasedCraft Server Hosting
Loot a city overrun by the infected, restore vehicles, build up a Create and Immersive Engineering tech tree and hold out as the hordes grow. The pack itself asks you to host its server pack rather than play over LAN. Pick a plan sized from the pack's own server RAM figures, set it up on Forge and Java 17, and play from the region closest to your group.

Which plan fits your DeceasedCraft server?
The pack page asks for at least 8GB for a server, recommends 10GB or more, and 12GB or more for the Distant Horizons Edition. Its server pack sets that 8GB minimum as the Java heap. Java needs memory on top of the heap, so we start DeceasedCraft at 12GB: room for the recommended 10GB heap plus Java itself. The pack gives no player counts. Standard plans run on DDR4, Premium on faster CPUs with DDR5, and the CPU is shared on both.
Regular pack
MC Special 1, 12GB RAM
Standard
€10.80/mo
Premium
€21.99/mo
Room for the 10GB heap the pack recommends for a server, with about 2GB left for Java itself. The server pack ships with an 8GB heap, the pack's own minimum, so if your server starts through user_jvm_args.txt, raise -Xmx to 10G.
Choose 12GBDH Edition or more room
MC Special 3, 16GB RAM
Standard
€14.40/mo
Premium
€27.99/mo
The pack asks for 12GB or more for a Distant Horizons server. 16GB fits a 13 to 14GB heap with room for Java, and gives the regular pack headroom when your group spreads out over the city.
Choose 16GBPublic server
MC Special 4, 32GB RAM
Standard
€29.99/mo
Premium
€56.99/mo
Room for a much bigger heap when many players are online at once, each with their own horde and their own part of the city loaded.

CPU matters
Minecraft cares about single-thread speed. In the Netherlands, Germany, Poland and Canada, Premium runs Ryzen 9 7950X or 9950X (depending on stock) and Standard Ryzen 9 3900X-class. California and Virginia run the 7950X3D, Singapore and Australia the 5950X, and India the 3900X-class. The CPU is shared on every plan.
Protection choices
DDoS protection is included on every plan in every region. Premium and the USA locations run behind Cloudflare Magic Transit; Standard, Singapore, Australia and India use standard protection. There is no paid add-on.
Panel included
Console, files, backups, schedules, startup flags, and sub-users are ready.
9 regions
Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Canada, USA (California), USA (Virginia), Singapore, India (Mumbai), and Australia. EU, NA, Asia, South Asia, and Oceania covered.

Setup
From order to first join
Step 1
Pick 12GB or more and a region
Your server and control panel login arrive by email after payment.
Step 2
Install Forge, then the server pack
Install Forge 1.20.1-47.4.0 from the panel. Unpack DeceasedCraft_Server_Beta_5.10.17.zip and upload its contents over SFTP. Set Java 17 and a heap that fits your plan, start once, accept the EULA in eula.txt and start again.
Step 3
Match the pack version
Players install DeceasedCraft 5.10.17 in the CurseForge app, the same version as the server. The pack page asks them to give the game at least 5GB of RAM and recommends 8GB.
Server load
What makes a zombie pack heavy for a server
These are the parts of DeceasedCraft that put load on a server, taken from the mods and settings in its own server pack.
A horde for every player
The Hordes keeps a separate horde for each player, timed on that player's own play time. In the pack's config a horde comes every 15 in-game days, and each one can have up to 100 mobs alive at once, all heading for their player. Players who split up across the city each pull their own horde. If the server slows down during hordes, the mod's own config says to raise hordePathingInterval in config/hordes-common.toml; the pack sets 100 ticks.
Zombies follow noise, light and scent
Zombie Awareness lets zombies track sound, light and scent, and in this pack blocks broken by machines make noise too, not only blocks broken by players. Its config marks several of these settings as performance sensitive. The pack also ships Mobtimizations, which cuts how often mobs redo their targeting and wandering pathfinding, more so when they are far from players.
Every player loads their own part of the city
The server sends each player the chunks within view-distance and keeps updating mobs within simulation-distance of every player. The pack leaves both at Minecraft's default of 10 chunks, so a group spread over the city keeps several busy areas going at once. Lowering simulation-distance in server.properties cuts how many mobs the server updates around each player, while view-distance, how far players see, stays the same.
The DH Edition generates far-off terrain
The Distant Horizons Edition adds Distant Horizons 2.4.5 to the server pack, set to generate distant terrain on the server itself. Its own config says that mode "may cause server/simulation lag" and saves the chunks it generates into the world's region files, so the world grows faster on your disk. To cap it, set generationBoundsRadius in config/DistantHorizons.toml: a radius in blocks around 0, 0 unless you move the center with generationBoundsX and generationBoundsZ. The pack leaves it at 0, which turns the bounds off.
Running the server
DeceasedCraft things worth knowing before you start
Command blocks must stay on
The pack page says multiblocks and vehicle spawns depend on command blocks. The server pack's default-server.properties turns them on, along with allow-flight, and turns the Nether and vanilla structures off. A small mod in the pack writes those values into server.properties on the first start only, so make your own changes after that start, not before.
The server pack sets an 8GB heap
user_jvm_args.txt has -Xmx8G -Xms8G, the pack's own server minimum. If your server starts through that file, Java gets 8GB on every plan. On 12GB raise it to 10G, on 16GB to 13G or 14G. On an 8GB plan that heap leaves no room for Java itself, and a server that runs out of room gets killed with exit code 137.
Voice chat needs its own port
The pack includes Simple Voice Chat, which uses UDP port 24454 by default. Every plan includes 3 port allocations: create one in the Network tab of the panel, set port= in config/voicechat/voicechat-server.properties to that port and restart, so players can connect to voice.
Check where the world spawned
The pack page says that if you did not spawn in a medium or large Suburb Residential District, you should consider generating a new world. Check right after the first start. For a new city, stop the server, delete the world folder and start again with level-seed left empty, before anyone builds.
Chunky and spark are already in the pack
Chunky does not run on its own, and by default it centers on 0, 0, not on the spawn. Once the spawn suits you, run chunky spawn in the console to center on it, set a radius with chunky radius and run chunky start, so the server is not generating new city chunks while people play. A /spark profiler report shows which mods take the server's time and counts entities by type, a quick way to see where zombies pile up.
5.10 is a beta you cannot finish yet
The pack page says the Wasteland and Abyss districts are not in the beta yet, so the endgame and high-tier gear are missing, and it gives no guarantee that the beta will be compatible with the final v6.0. Take a backup from the panel before every update. For a full playthrough, the page points to 5.5.5 on Minecraft 1.18.2.

DeceasedCraft Hosting FAQ
- The pack page asks for at least 8GB for a server and recommends 10GB or more, or 12GB or more for the Distant Horizons Edition. The server pack itself gives Java an 8GB heap, and Java needs memory on top of the heap, so we start DeceasedCraft at 12GB (MC Special 1), which fits the recommended 10GB heap. For the DH Edition we suggest 16GB (MC Special 3). On our 8GB plan (MC Diamond) the heap would have to drop below the pack's own minimum. The pack publishes no player counts.
- DeceasedCraft 5.10.17 runs on Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge 47.4.0. Both the pack's CurseForge manifest and the Forge installer in its server pack say so, and Minecraft 1.20.1 needs Java 17. The older 5.5.5 runs on Minecraft 1.18.2 with Forge 40.2.4, and its readme also asks for Java 17. You can pick the Java version in the Startup tab of the panel.
- On the pack's CurseForge page: open the Files tab, pick the version and look under Additional Files. For 5.10.17 that is DeceasedCraft_Server_Beta_5.10.17.zip (about 580 MB). It holds the Forge 47.4.0 installer, run.bat, user_jvm_args.txt, default-server.properties and the mods, config, defaultconfigs, kubejs, customnpcs and tacz folders. It is only for the server: the pack page warns not to use it as your game files, because it is missing a lot of client optimization mods.
- The 5.10 versions are an open beta of the coming v6.0, with new districts, more guns and new zombies. The pack page warns that the beta cannot be completed: the Wasteland and Abyss districts are missing, so the endgame and high-tier gear are not in it yet, and there is no guarantee the beta will be compatible with the final v6.0. For a full playthrough it points to 5.5.5 on Minecraft 1.18.2. Pick 5.10.17 for the new content or 5.5.5 if your group wants to finish the game. Either way, every player needs the same version as the server.
- Yes. The pack page says some features, such as multiblocks and vehicle spawns, depend on command blocks. The server pack's default-server.properties sets enable-command-block=true, and the Default Server Properties mod in the pack applies that file on the server's first start. The same file turns allow-flight on and the Nether and vanilla structures off; the pack page says there are no plans to add the Nether or the End. If you edit server.properties later, leave enable-command-block on.
- The pack team advises against it. Its page says LAN multiplayer "is not advised or suggested" because of reports of poor performance and bugs, and asks players to use the included server pack and host a server instead. A hosted server also lets the rest of your group play while the person who started the world is offline.
- Yes, once it has its own port. The pack ships Simple Voice Chat, which sends audio over UDP on port 24454 by default. Every plan includes 3 port allocations at no cost: create one in the Network tab of the panel, set port= in config/voicechat/voicechat-server.properties to that port, leave voice_host empty and restart the server.
