Space-Node does not have a server in the United Kingdom. For UK players our nearest regions are the Netherlands and Germany, where Minecraft servers start at €2.70 a month. This page shows how many milliseconds that adds from British cities, how to test it from your own connection before you pay, and what you get for the money.
How far the Netherlands and Germany are from the UK
WonderNetwork runs test servers in cities around the world and pings between them every hour. The table shows the medians of those hourly averages between 17 September and 1 October 2026, read from wondernetwork.com on 1 October 2026:
| From | Amsterdam | Frankfurt |
|---|---|---|
| London | 8 ms | 18 ms |
| Manchester | 16 ms | 22 ms |
| Newcastle | 17 ms | 20 ms |
| Edinburgh | 17 ms | 25 ms |
| Cardiff | 21 ms | 19 ms |
| Belfast | 22 ms | 31 ms |
For Minecraft these are small numbers. It is not a twitch shooter, and at this distance building and combat feel immediate. A server that cannot hold 20 ticks per second is far more noticeable than a few milliseconds of cable under the North Sea.
Amsterdam was faster from five of the six cities. Cardiff was the exception and measured quicker to Frankfurt over these two weeks, even though Amsterdam is closer. Routes do not follow the map. WonderNetwork's servers are also not our nodes, so read the table as a guide to the routes rather than as your ping to us.
Test it from your own connection
Open our Minecraft server hosting page and scroll to the plan selector. It times a round trip from your browser to each of our nine regions and refreshes every ten seconds. From the UK it starts on the Netherlands, then moves to whichever region answered fastest, until you pick one yourself. The browser figure includes a little overhead, so use it to compare regions rather than as the exact ping you will see in game. Ask the people who will play most to try it as well.
Netherlands or Germany
Both sell the same plans at the same prices, so pick on ping. For a mostly British group the Netherlands usually comes out ahead. Frankfurt is worth a look when part of your group lives in central Europe, or when the test shows it faster from your area, as WonderNetwork's Cardiff figures did. Players in Ireland can read our Ireland guide, and the Germany guide has the same kind of figures for German, Austrian and Swiss cities.
In our checkout the Netherlands, Germany and Poland share one product per plan, which is why the plan name ends in "NL & DE & PL". When you order, tell us in live chat which location you want, the Netherlands or Frankfurt. Moving an existing server between our locations later is free, about once a week.
What it costs
| Plan | RAM | Standard | Premium |
|---|---|---|---|
| MC Coal | 3 GB | €2.70 | €5.25 |
| MC Diamond | 8 GB | €7.20 | €13.99 |
| MC Special 1 | 12 GB | €10.80 | €21.99 |
| MC Special 3 | 16 GB | €14.40 | €27.99 |
Prices are per month, with no setup fee. Quarterly, half-yearly and yearly terms cost less per month; a year of MC Coal on Standard is €25.92. Our checkout bills in euro only, so a UK card is charged in euro and your bank converts it. At the ECB reference rate of 1 October 2026, €2.70 is about £2.31. Your bank's own rate and any foreign transaction fee decide the final amount.
If you want a cheap server for a few friends, MC Coal gives you 3 GB of RAM and 25 GB of NVMe storage for €2.70 a month, which is enough for a small vanilla or Paper world. Big modpacks need more: our All The Mods 10 page starts ATM10 at 12 GB.
Standard and Premium
Standard runs on AMD Ryzen 9 3900X-class CPUs with DDR4 memory and standard DDoS protection. Premium runs on AMD Ryzen 9 7950X or 9950X nodes, depending on stock, with DDR5 memory and Cloudflare Magic Transit, and gets 600 to 800% CPU (6 to 8 vCores) under fair use. On both lines the CPU is shared with other servers on the node, the RAM in your plan is reserved for your server, and storage is NVMe. Most friend groups are fine on Standard. Premium is for heavy modpacks and busy public servers.
Support hours in UK time
Our team is online every day from 08:00 to 20:00 UTC, on live chat and on Discord. During British Summer Time, which ends on 25 October 2026, that is 09:00 to 21:00 UK time. In winter it is 08:00 to 20:00. Servers are monitored around the clock.
Moving from another host
You can move the server yourself: stop it so the world is saved, download the world folder, plugins and config files, and upload them to your new server over SFTP. Or add the One-time Server Migration at checkout, €15 charged once, and we move it for you. Our guide to moving a Minecraft server covers both routes.
