Prominence II (also called Prominence RPG) is one of the most downloaded modpacks on Modrinth and CurseForge. It transforms Minecraft into an RPG with classes, skill trees, boss fights, custom dungeons, and a quest system. Think Minecraft meets an action RPG.
Key Features
- Class system: Choose warrior, mage, ranger, or rogue
- Skill trees: Level up and unlock abilities
- Custom dungeons: Hand-crafted and procedurally generated
- Boss fights: Multi-phase bosses with unique mechanics
- Quest storyline: Guided progression through the world
- Custom weapons and armor: Unique items with special effects
- World generation: Massive custom biomes and structures
Server Setup
- Download the server files from Modrinth or CurseForge
- Upload to your server
- Run the install script (requires Fabric or Forge depending on version)
- Accept EULA
- Allocate minimum 6 GB RAM
- Start the server
Important Server Settings
Difficulty
Keep it on Hard. The modpack is balanced for Hard difficulty. Normal makes bosses too easy.
Keep Inventory
Consider enabling keepInventory for a less punishing experience, especially with difficult boss fights.
View Distance
Set to 10 to 12 for exploration. The custom world generation creates impressive landscapes that benefit from higher view distance, but lower it if performance suffers.
Mob Spawning
Do not reduce mob spawning. The custom mob spawns are part of the RPG progression. Hostile mobs drop unique items needed for crafting.
Multiplayer Tips
- Party system lets players team up for dungeons
- Scale boss health based on party size if configurable
- Set up a central hub town for player interaction
- Enable PvP in designated arenas only
- Loot is typically per-player in dungeons
Performance Notes
Prominence II is heavier than vanilla due to:
- Custom world generation
- Additional mobs and entities
- Shader-compatible visual effects
- Large structure generation
Pre-generate the world for 5000+ blocks in each direction. This prevents lag spikes when players explore new areas.
Hardware Requirements
| Players | RAM |
|---|---|
| 1 to 10 | 6 to 8 GB |
| 10 to 20 | 8 to 12 GB |
| 20 to 40 | 12 to 16 GB |
Prominence II needs fast storage (SSD) for world generation and chunk loading.

Prominence 2 party system and requirements answers
| Query | Answer |
|---|---|
| Prominence 2 party system | Prominence II uses modded team/party features depending on the pack version. Check the in-game keybinds and quest book first, because controls can change between updates. |
| How to make a party in Prominence 2 | Open the modpack's team or party menu from the assigned keybind, create a team, then invite friends from the menu or command system if the pack exposes one. |
| Prominence 2 system requirements | For a server, plan around 8 GB RAM minimum and 10-12 GB preferred for a small group. For clients, allocate enough RAM without starving the operating system. |
| Prominence 2 server requirements | Use modern CPU cores, NVMe storage, and a matching Java/loader version from the pack instructions. Keep view distance modest. |
| Prominence 2 performance guide | Pre-generate chunks when possible, restart on a schedule, keep backups, remove broken client-only mods from the server, and profile if TPS drops. |
| Prominence 2 chunk loader | Use chunk loading carefully. Too many force-loaded chunks can turn an RPG pack into a permanent background workload. |
If a party, team, or quest feature does not behave as expected, first verify that every player is on the same pack version and that the server files match the client pack version.
