Mod Menu for Fabric: Install and Configure Your Mods (2026)

Fabric does not have a built-in mod configuration screen. Mod Menu fixes that. It adds a "Mods" button to the main menu that shows all installed mods with their settings, descriptions, and update status.
What Mod Menu Does
- Adds a "Mods" button to the Minecraft title screen
- Lists every installed mod with name, version, and description
- Provides in-game access to mod configuration screens
- Shows mod icons and links to mod pages
- Helps you identify which mods are installed and what version they are
How to Install Mod Menu
- Make sure you have Fabric Loader installed
- Download Mod Menu from Modrinth
- Place the
.jarfile in your.minecraft/mods/folder - Launch Minecraft with Fabric
A new "Mods" button appears on the title screen.
Using Mod Menu
Click the "Mods" button. You see a list of all installed mods on the left. Click any mod to see:
- Description from the mod developer
- Version currently installed
- Configuration button (if the mod supports it)
- Website/Source links
The configuration button opens the mod's settings page directly in-game. No need to edit config files manually.
Which Mods Work With Mod Menu?
Most popular Fabric mods support Mod Menu configuration:
- Sodium: Graphics settings accessible through Mod Menu
- Iris: Shader settings and pack management
- Lithium: Shows version info (no in-game settings needed)
- Continuity: Connected texture settings
- Zoomify: Zoom behavior and keybind settings
- Xaero's Minimap: Full minimap configuration
If a mod uses Cloth Config as its configuration library, it will always work with Mod Menu.
Dependencies
Mod Menu itself has no required dependencies beyond Fabric API. However, some mod configuration screens need Cloth Config API installed. Download it from Modrinth if you see missing config screens.
Mod Menu on Servers
Mod Menu is client-side only. It does not need to be installed on the server. It only affects your local game client. Install it on every player's client for the best experience.
Tips
- Use the search bar to find mods quickly when you have many installed
- Mods with a wrench icon have configurable settings
- Mod Menu shows library mods separately to keep the list clean
- Check for mod updates directly from the mod list
The Bottom Line
If you use Fabric, install Mod Menu. It takes 10 seconds and makes managing your mods dramatically easier. There is no reason not to use it.
