StoneBlock Modpack Server Guide (2026)

StoneBlock is a modpack where the entire world is solid stone. There is no sky, no surface, no trees. You start in a small room carved out of stone and must mine, craft, and progress through technology and magic to build your underground empire.
How StoneBlock Works
- The world is entirely stone from bedrock to build limit
- You start with basic tools in a small room
- Mining provides resources to craft machines
- Technology and magic mods let you generate resources without mining
- Quests guide you through the progression
- The goal is to automate everything from nothing
Versions
- StoneBlock — Original (MC 1.12.2)
- StoneBlock 2 — Updated with more mods (MC 1.12.2)
- StoneBlock 3 — Modern version (MC 1.19+)
- FTB StoneBlock — FTB's take on the concept

Server Tips
- StoneBlock world gen is simple (all stone) so chunk generation is fast
- Players create their own rooms and tunnels
- Set claim protection so players do not mine into each other
- Resource generation is mostly machine-based, so CPU matters more than disk
- Pre-generate is not needed since the world is uniform
Hardware Requirements
| Players | RAM | |---------|-----| | 1 to 10 | 5 to 6 GB | | 10 to 20 | 6 to 10 GB | | 20+ | 10 to 14 GB |
Machine-heavy gameplay means CPU is the bottleneck, not disk or network.
