FiveM System Requirements for PC (2026)

Published on

Minimum and recommended PC specs for playing FiveM, including RAM, CPU, GPU, storage, and what RP servers with custom cars and MLOs actually need.

FiveM system requirements PC

FiveM runs on top of GTA V, so you need a PC that can handle both the base game and the extra resources that RP servers stream. Here are the real system requirements for FiveM in 2026.

Minimum requirements

  • CPU: Intel i5-4460 or AMD FX-8350 (quad core, 3.1 GHz+).
  • RAM: 8 GB (but 16 GB strongly recommended).
  • GPU: NVIDIA GTX 660 2 GB or AMD HD 7870 2 GB.
  • Storage: 100 GB free (GTA V base game plus FiveM cache).
  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit.
  • Network: stable broadband connection.

These minimum specs will launch FiveM, but on a busy RP server with custom cars, MLO interiors, and EUP clothing, you will see low FPS and long loading times.

Recommended for roleplay servers

  • CPU: Intel i5-10400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (6 core).
  • RAM: 16 GB DDR4 (heavy servers can use 12+ GB).
  • GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1660 Super or AMD RX 5600 XT.
  • Storage: NVMe SSD with 150+ GB free (SSD is critical for asset loading).
  • Network: 25 Mbps+ download for streaming custom assets.

The single biggest upgrade for FiveM performance is moving from a hard drive to an SSD. Custom assets stream from disk, and an HDD creates long loading screens and texture pop-in.

Why FiveM uses so much RAM

GTA V itself uses 4-6 GB. FiveM adds its own framework overhead plus every custom resource the server streams: vehicles, maps, clothing, and textures all load into memory. A busy RP server with 200+ custom cars and multiple MLO interiors can push client RAM usage past 12 GB.

If FiveM keeps crashing with out-of-memory errors, close other programs and increase Windows virtual memory (page file).

FiveM vs GTA Online requirements

FiveM is slightly more demanding than GTA Online because modded RP servers stream far more custom content. GTA Online loads Rockstar's fixed asset set, while FiveM servers can stream unlimited custom assets. The CPU and GPU requirements are similar, but RAM and storage demands are higher for FiveM.

The short answer

Minimum: quad core CPU, 8 GB RAM, GTX 660, 100 GB storage. Recommended for RP: 6-core CPU, 16 GB RAM, GTX 1660 Super, NVMe SSD with 150 GB free. An SSD is the single most important upgrade.
