ARK Survival Ascended Dedicated Server Hosting 2026

ARK Survival Ascended is the rebuilt, Unreal Engine 5 version of ARK: Survival Evolved. The graphics upgrade came at a significant cost to server performance — ASA dedicated servers are among the most resource-intensive game servers you can run. Here is what you need to know to host one properly in 2026.
Why ARK Survival Ascended Is Demanding to Host
Unlike Minecraft or Valheim, ARK Survival Ascended:
- Has a large persistent open world with dynamic terrain
- Simulates hundreds of unique dinosaur entities simultaneously
- Track breeding, imprinting, and taming timers for every creature on the map
- Manages complex tribe structures, base permissions, and PvP interactions
Every player online brings dozens of active tame dinosaurs into the simulation. A server with 20 active players might be simulating 400+ individual creature AI instances.
Hardware Requirements for ASA in 2026
| Setup | RAM | CPU | Storage | |---|---|---|---| | Small (1-10 players, vanilla) | 16 GB | Ryzen 7000+ | NVMe | | Medium (10-30 players) | 24-32 GB | Ryzen 7 9700X | NVMe | | Large (30-70 players) | 48+ GB | High-end Ryzen | NVMe RAID |
RAM is the primary bottleneck. ARK Survival Ascended will consume 12-16 GB of RAM by itself. Budget accordingly — cheap 8 GB plans will crash immediately.
CPU matters a lot too. ASA is not efficiently multithreaded for game logic. A high-clock Ryzen processor will outperform a higher-core-count but slower server chip.
Map Selection and Performance
Different ASA maps have very different performance profiles:
- The Island — the classic map, heaviest in terms of active area
- Scorched Earth — resource-sparse, generally better performing
- Ragnarok — large map, moderate performance
- The Center — well-balanced, good for medium servers
For lower-powered hardware, Scorched Earth or Crystal Isles tend to perform best.
Essential Server Configuration
Key settings in GameUserSettings.ini:
[ServerSettings]
ServerCrosshair=True
AllowThirdPersonPlayer=True
MaxPlayers=30
DifficultyOffset=1.0
XPMultiplier=2.0
TamingSpeedMultiplier=3.0
HarvestAmountMultiplier=2.0
Boosted harvest and taming rates are standard on most community servers — vanilla rates are designed for months of progression and frustrate players on small communities.
Dino decimation — running /DestroyWildDinos via RCON periodically removes accumulated wild dinosaurs that build up over time and cause lag.
Mods on ASA Servers
ASA mods install automatically from mod.io when players connect. Keep your mod list focused — every additional mod increases RAM usage and can cause instability. A curated list of 5-10 quality mods performs better than a sprawling 30-mod collection.
Network and DDoS Considerations
ARK servers are frequent DDoS targets, especially PvP servers. Make sure your hosting provider offers DDoS mitigation at the network level. Space-Node includes DDoS protection on all game server plans.
Hosting ARK SA at Space-Node
We offer ARK Survival Ascended server plans starting from 16 GB RAM on AMD Ryzen 7 9700X hardware with NVMe storage. This covers small to medium communities. For larger PvP clusters, we offer higher RAM configurations.

RAM, NVMe, Ryzen — the three things ASA actually needs.
