ARK Survival Ascended

ARK Survival Ascended (ASA) keeps the powerful console command system from the original. You can spawn items, tame dinos instantly, fly, and more. Here is how to enable and use them.

How to Open the Console

PC: Press the ~ (tilde) key. In Survival Evolved it was Tab, which is why many older guides still say Tab.
Xbox and PlayStation: Turn on console access in the game settings, open the pause screen, then press the button shown in the lower left of the screen (ARK Wiki).

Enabling Cheats

On a multiplayer server, log in as admin:

enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword>

In single-player you do not need enablecheats or the cheat prefix; commands work as typed.

Spawning Items and Dinos

Give items by blueprint:

giveitem "<blueprintpath>" <quantity> <quality> <blueprint 0/1>

Give resources fast:

giveresources
gfi <part of blueprint name> <qty> <quality> <bp>

giveresources adds 50 of every resource. The numeric item IDs that giveitemnum uses are documented for Survival Evolved (ARK Wiki item IDs), so in ASA it is safer to use giveitem with the full path or gfi with part of it.

Spawn a creature:

summon <creature_id>
spawndino "<blueprint>" 500 0 0 <level>

Give experience and engrams:

Running these on your own server

On a dedicated server you first log in with enablecheats and the ServerAdminPassword from GameUserSettings.ini, then put cheat in front of every command. Admins whose EOS ID is in ShooterGame/Saved/AllowedCheaterAccountIDs.txt skip the password step (ARK Wiki server configuration). Server commands such as saveworld, broadcast and kickplayer can also be sent over RCON without joining the game. Self and crosshair commands like fly, god or forcetame cannot, because RCON has no character to act on. Every plan of Space-Node's ARK server hosting has RCON enabled and gives you direct access to GameUserSettings.ini and Game.ini.
