The Mistlands is Valheim's late-game biome: dark, vertical, and covered in thick mist. It introduces magic (Eitr) and the boss The Queen. Here is how to tackle it.
Before You Enter
You should have:
- Padded armor (Plains tier)
- Black Metal weapons or a strong bow
- Frost/poison resistance meads as needed
- A boat to reach the biome
Seeing Through the Mist
The Mistlands is covered in a dense fog that blocks your view. Craft a Wisplight:
- Catch a Wisp at night using a Demister wisp (found in the biome)
- Build a Wisp Fountain or collect Wisps
- Equip the Wisplight on your utility slot, it clears mist around you
Without the Wisplight, navigation is nearly impossible.

Magic types include blood (summoning), elemental (fire/frost), and protection staves.
Finding The Queen
The Queen lives deep in an Infested Mine (Seeker dungeon). To summon her:
- Collect 9 Dvergr Extractors from Dvergr structures
- Build the Sealbreaker at the sealed door
- Enter and fight in the tight dungeon space
Beating The Queen
- The fight is in close quarters, bring melee and ranged options
- Use the destructible pillars to break her line of sight
- Eat the best Mistlands food for max health and stamina
- Carapace armor and Black Metal/Mistlands weapons recommended
Multiplayer Tip
The Mistlands is brutal solo. Tackling it with a group on a dedicated server makes gathering and the boss fight far more manageable. Allocate 4-6 GB RAM for a small group.
