Set Bonuses and Playstyles
Valheim armor does not have traditional "set bonuses" for all sets, but certain sets favor specific builds:
- Troll armor: +sneak. Great for stealth archery in early-mid game.
- Root armor (chest): poison resistance, useful in the Swamp against Bonemass.
- Fenris armor: +movement speed and unarmed/elemental magic bonuses.
- Carapace armor: highest physical armor in Mistlands but reduces Eitr.
- Eitr-weave (Mage) armor: boosts Eitr for staff users at the cost of armor.
Heavy vs Light Armor
Heavier armor (Padded, Carapace) reduces movement speed slightly but gives the most protection. Lighter armor (Fenris, Mage) trades defense for speed or magic. Choose based on whether you melee, archer, or cast spells.
Crafting Tips
- Upgrade armor at the appropriate workbench/forge to max its value
- Carry the right resistance mead, armor alone does not stop elemental damage
- Repair armor for free at the crafting station
