MineKeep (often searched as minekeep server hosting and minekeep hosting) is a free Minecraft host with paid upgrades. This review covers what minekeep.net lists, checked on 28 September 2026. We did not run a server there for this article, so there are no performance or uptime results from us.
What MineKeep Is
MineKeep calls itself a free Minecraft server hosting platform and says it "is, and will remain free forever, with no playtime limits". Every server gets an address like name.minekeep.gg for Java and name.bedrock.minekeep.gg for Bedrock, and they run Geyser and Floodgate on their proxy so Bedrock players can join Java servers.
What makes it different is the hub: public servers are listed in a shared lobby where players browse and join, and you can pay for ads in that hub to get more players. Every account gets €1 of free ad credit a month. You can also connect a server that runs somewhere else, and MineKeep proxies players to it with DDoS protection.

The pricing section is headed "Hibernate when empty", and the FAQ explains it: a server stays on while at least one player is online, starts automatically when someone tries to join, and if you need constant uptime you can upgrade. Daily backups are on for every server, and on paid plans the first backup of each month is kept for 75 days. Support runs through their Discord.
Who MineKeep Fits
MineKeep suits a small group that wants a free server with a Bedrock-friendly address, or a public server owner who wants players from the hub. The automatic start on join means friends can get on without anyone opening a panel first.
Look further if you need more than 12 GB for a heavy modpack, want to know which CPU model you are on (the plans describe CPU as shared, basic, moderate, advanced or powerful), or want the server running with nobody online without checking what the always-on upgrade costs.
For heavy modpacks and TPS-critical servers, the CPU's single-thread speed matters most. Space-Node lists the CPU per region: a Ryzen 9 7950X or 9950X (depending on stock) on Premium in Europe and Canada, a Ryzen 9 7950X3D in the USA, a Ryzen 9 5950X in Singapore and Australia, and Ryzen 9 3900X-class hardware on Standard. If you outgrow free hosting, compare on what your server actually needs: 4 to 8 GB of RAM for many small Paper servers, 8 to 12 GB for modpacks, NVMe storage, DDoS protection, backups, and support that understands Minecraft. Before you move a serious community anywhere, run a test week on the new host: your plugin load, a backup restore, TPS at peak and how quickly support answers you.
