Etheron Hosting Review 2026: Prices, Hardware, Ratings

Etheron Hosting is a Dutch host from Alkmaar, running since 2019, that sells Minecraft, Valheim, Hytale and Satisfactory servers, VPS, web hosting and dedicated servers from data centers in Amsterdam. For your money you get Minecraft at €1.25 per GB of RAM on its Budget line or €3.25 per GB on Premium, with 50GB of NVMe storage and a backup slot included, from a host with a Trustpilot TrustScore of 4.5 from 171 reviews.

Space-Node, the company behind this blog, is a competing game server host, and we wrote this review. Everything about Etheron below comes from its own public pages and from review sites, read on 25 October 2026, and every price, plan and review score was checked again on 26 October 2026. Each fact links to its source, and where Etheron is cheaper or better than we are, this page says so. Both hosts quote monthly prices including VAT.

What Etheron does well

• Reviews and community. A Trustpilot TrustScore of 4.5 from 171 reviews, 81% of them five stars, and first place with 128 votes on mchosts.nl, a vote list of Dutch Minecraft hosts. Its Discord server had 1,882 members on 26 October 2026. On all three counts Etheron is ahead of us: we have 4.2 from 38 reviews and 321 Discord members, and we are not on the mchosts.nl list.
• More included per plan. Every Minecraft plan comes with 50GB of NVMe storage, the plans we opened in the shop include a backup slot, and the order page states how many CPU threads you get. Hytale and Satisfactory plans also include 50GB.
• Small entry plans. Minecraft from 2GB for €2.50, a BungeeCord proxy from 512MB for €0.55 and a VPS from 1GB for €2.95.
• Discounts for paying ahead. 5% off for 3 months, about 10% for 6 and about 15% for 12 in the shop: an 8GB Budget Minecraft server costs €8.48 a month on a yearly term instead of €10.00.
• Valheim prices and VPS extras. Etheron is cheaper than we are on Valheim up to 8GB, its Budget VPS is cheaper than our Premium VPS from 8GB up (our Standard VPS costs less than Budget at every size), and every Etheron VPS includes daily backups kept for 14 days and 20TB of outgoing traffic.
• One account for more products. Web hosting, domains, VPS, dedicated servers and colocation sit next to the game servers, and paid SLA levels add faster response times and phone support.
• Payment choice. iDEAL and Wero, PayPal, Paysafecard, Bancontact, credit card, Apple Pay, Sofort, Belfius, bank transfer and crypto.

Where Etheron falls short

• One country. Etheron says all its servers are in the Netherlands, in Amsterdam. That suits players in the Benelux and nearby. Players in North America, Asia or Australia connect from far away, and there is no closer location to pick.
• Office hours on the helpdesk. The SLA page gives helpdesk hours of Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00, with weekend hours only on the two highest SLA levels. The homepage says the support team is there every day, and the Minecraft page says support is available every day through Discord and email.
• Four games. Minecraft, Valheim, Hytale and Satisfactory. There are no ready-made FiveM, Rust, Palworld, DayZ or Project Zomboid servers; the VPS Game page names Rust as a use case, on a VPS you manage yourself.
• 16GB is the largest listed Minecraft plan. For more RAM on one server, Etheron's range continues with its VPS and dedicated servers.
• Price per GB. On Minecraft, Hytale, Satisfactory and the Ryzen VPS line, Etheron costs more per GB than we do (tables below).

Minecraft plans and prices

Etheron sells Minecraft in two lines at a flat price per GB of RAM. Budget runs on an AMD EPYC 7443P with DDR4, Premium on an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X with DDR5, both on NVMe storage, with Etheron's footnote "or comparable (we maintain single-core performance so you won't notice a difference)" (packages page). The shop calls the Budget line "Standaard".

We opened the Iron and Diamond plans in Etheron's shop up to the configuration step, without ordering. This is what they include:

• CPU threads: 2 on Budget Iron and Budget Diamond, 4 on Premium Diamond. On Budget, 3, 4 or 6 threads cost €4.00, €6.00 or €8.00 a month extra; on Premium Diamond, 6 threads cost €4.00 extra.
• Storage: 50GB NVMe included, 75GB to 200GB for €1.25 to €7.50 a month extra. The Dutch packages page also shows 50GB on every plan.
• Backups: 1 backup slot included, 2 to 20 slots for €0.50 to €5.00 a month. The packages page lists automatic backups among the features.
• Longer terms: Diamond Budget costs €10.00 for one month, €9.50 a month on 3 months, €9.03 on 6 and €8.48 on 12. Iron Budget goes from €5.00 to €4.24 a month, Diamond Premium from €26.00 to €22.06.

The packages page also lists a modpack installer and plugin manager, sFTP access, MySQL databases, "unlimited slots", instant delivery and a free subdomain on speelmc.nl or one of seven other domains. Etheron's own advice is at least 5GB of RAM once you add mods; our RAM guide goes through sizing for plugins and modpacks.

Bedrock plans run on a Java server with a plugin that lets Bedrock players join, so Windows, iOS and Android Bedrock players and Java players share one world: 3GB for €3.75, 5GB for €6.25, 7GB for €8.75 and 10GB for €12.50 (Bedrock page). A BungeeCord proxy costs €0.55 for 512MB or €1.10 for 1GB (BungeeCord page).

Valheim, Hytale and Satisfactory

Checked 26 October 2026 on the Valheim and Hytale pages. The lower line runs on the EPYC 7443P with DDR4 and Premium on the Ryzen 9 7950X with DDR5, again "or comparable". Every Hytale plan includes 50GB NVMe. The Valheim panel has a world switcher, a server password, automatic updates and world upload over sFTP.

Satisfactory comes in one line on the EPYC 7443P, each plan with 50GB NVMe and a stated thread count: 6GB with 2 threads for €7.50, 8GB with 3 threads for €10.00, 10GB with 4 threads for €12.50, 12GB with 5 threads for €15.00 and 16GB with 6 threads for €20.00 (Satisfactory page). Gray Zone Warfare has a page marked "Available soon", with no plans yet.

VPS and other products

Checked 26 October 2026 on the VPS Budget and VPS Game pages. Both lines include 20TB of outgoing traffic, an IPv4 address, a /112 IPv6 subnet and free daily backups. Both pages say the daily backups are kept for 14 days, as does Etheron's backup post of 12 October 2026, and both offer custom ISO upload. The VPS Budget page names the VirtFusion panel.

Etheron also sells web and reseller hosting on DirectAdmin, domains, dedicated servers and colocation in Amsterdam.

Support, status page and terms

Etheron answers through tickets in its client area, Discord and email, and the Minecraft page also names live chat and says you will "generally" get a response "within a few minutes". The SLA page gives helpdesk hours of Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00, with weekend hours from 12:00 to 17:00 on the Deluxe and Ultiem levels. The homepage says the support team "is here for you every day", and the Minecraft page says support is "available every day via Discord and e-mail". The five SLA levels set a maximum response time during office hours of 24 hours (Instap), 12 (Standaard), 6 (Geavanceerd), 4 (Deluxe) and 3 (Ultiem), with phone support from Standaard up; the SLA page does not show their prices. Support is in Dutch and English.

The status page shows the core network, game panel, game nodes, hypervisor nodes, web servers and name servers, each with 90 days of history and a list of past incidents.

The terms were last updated on 8 May 2026, and the Dutch version is the one that applies. In plain words:

• Services are prepaid without a fixed contract, and the product pages say you can cancel at any time in the customer panel.
• Consumers may withdraw within 14 days of delivery under the conditions in article 8. For a service already in use, Etheron deducts the days used pro rata; its own example is €16.67 kept from a €50 month after 10 days, with €33.33 refunded.
• Price increases are announced at least 30 days ahead, and a consumer may then dissolve the agreement unless the increase comes from a change in the law.
• After a service expires, its files are deleted after 7 days unless you asked for a renewal in time.
• The customer is responsible for making backups, and Etheron is not liable for data loss. Whichever host you use, keep your own copy of a world you cannot lose, next to the backups a plan includes.
• Payments are manual by default. The Minecraft page says Etheron "will never debit your account automatically"; the Redbus reviewer below notes that automatic direct debit for renewals can be switched on through a support ticket.

Minecraft price per plan

At every size both of us sell, our Standard costs 28% less than Etheron Budget and our Premium 44% to 46% less than Etheron Premium. On a yearly prepay, Etheron's 8GB Budget server is €8.48 a month, still above our €7.20 on monthly billing. Storage goes the other way on the small plans: Etheron's 50GB is more than our Standard plans have up to 8GB (25GB to 45GB). Our Standard has 70GB or more from 12GB, and our Premium has 50GB or more from 4GB. On our plans the CPU is shared between the servers on a node and we publish no thread count per plan; Etheron's order page states one.

Other games and VPS

Our Premium VPS runs a Ryzen 9 9950X with DDR5 in an EU data center, with shared vCores, dedicated RAM and 5TB to 20TB of monthly traffic on the sizes in this table. The closest Etheron line is VPS Game on the Ryzen 9 7950X with DDR5. Ours costs 10% to 44% less at every size both of us sell; Etheron's has more cores at 8GB to 16GB, more storage at every size, 20TB of traffic on every plan and backups included. Etheron's EPYC Budget VPS is cheaper than our Premium VPS from 8GB up. Our Standard VPS (AMD EPYC 7452 with DDR4, also in an EU data center) is the closer match for Budget, and it costs 20% to 41% less at every size both of us sell, with as many or more vCores and the same or more storage. Budget keeps its daily backups and 20TB of traffic on every plan, against 10TB to 15TB on our Standard sizes in this table. Etheron's Budget prices checked on its VPS page on 29 October 2026, ours on our shop's checkout pages the same day.

Who should pick which

Etheron fits you if:

• your players are in or near the Netherlands and you want the most included per plan: 50GB of storage, a backup slot and a stated thread count;
• you want a 2GB server for a few friends, or a cheap BungeeCord proxy;
• you are happy to prepay 6 or 12 months for a lower monthly price;
• you run Valheim up to 8GB, or want daily backups included on a VPS;
• you want web hosting, domains and game servers on one account, or phone support through an SLA level;
• a higher Trustpilot score from more reviews matters most to you.

Space-Node fits you if:

• price per GB matters most: Minecraft from €0.90 per GB on Standard, or about €1.75 per GB on Premium with a Ryzen 9 9950X;
• your players are outside the Netherlands, in Germany, Poland, Canada, the USA, Singapore, India or Australia;
• you need a game Etheron does not list, such as FiveM, Rust, Palworld or DayZ, or Discord bot hosting;
• you need more than 16GB for one Minecraft server;
• you want live chat, Discord and email support every day from 08:00 to 20:00 UTC, without an SLA level.

FAQ

Is Etheron Hosting a Dutch company?

Yes. Etheron Hosting is registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 75539519 and is based in Alkmaar. It says it was founded in 2019 and has a team of 6.

Where are Etheron's servers?

In Amsterdam. Etheron says all its servers are in the Netherlands, and its blog names the NorthC and Databarn data centers in Amsterdam.

Which control panel does Etheron use?

Pterodactyl for game servers; Etheron moved its game panel from WISP to Pterodactyl, as it announced on 2 January 2025. VPS run on VirtFusion and web hosting on DirectAdmin.

Does Etheron include backups?

The Minecraft plans we opened in the shop include one backup slot, and 2 to 20 slots cost €0.50 to €5.00 a month extra. Every VPS includes daily backups kept for 14 days. Etheron's terms make the customer responsible for backups, so keep your own copy of a world you cannot lose, whichever host you use.

Can I cancel Etheron at any time?

Yes. Services are prepaid without a fixed contract and can be cancelled in the customer panel. Consumers also have a 14-day right of withdrawal, with a pro rata charge for days the service was in use.

Is Etheron down?

Check Etheron's own status page at status.etheron.nl. It shows the live state of its network, game panel, game nodes, hypervisor nodes and web servers, with 90 days of history and past incidents.

Is there an Etheron discount code?

Etheron offers a 10% creator code on its own site, and paying 3, 6 or 12 months ahead lowers the monthly price by 5% to about 15%. Even with 10% off, its 8GB Budget plan costs €9.00 a month, against €7.20 for our 8GB Standard plan.

Is Space-Node cheaper than Etheron?

For Minecraft, yes: €0.90 per GB on our Standard plans against €1.25 on Etheron Budget, and about €1.75 on our Premium against €3.25, at monthly prices checked 26 October 2026. Etheron is cheaper for Valheim up to 8GB, and it includes more storage on its smaller game plans and a backup slot on Minecraft. On VPS, our Standard line costs less than Etheron's Budget VPS at every size we both sell.
