Minecraft Bedrock Error Codes: What Each Named Code Means

Published on

All 61 named Minecraft Bedrock error codes, sorted: Hopper, Evoker, Kelp, Breeze and Rabbit have a server side check; Drowned and Cauldron are sign-in codes.

A Bedrock player sends you a screenshot that says "Error Code: Hopper", or Kelp, or Evoker. Is it your server or their account? Mojang's help center gives 61 Bedrock error codes a name, each with one line of meaning. This page sorts them by where the fix is. Seven of them, Door, NetherNet, Terracotta, Block, Boat, Chain and Arrow, have their own page: our Door and Terracotta guide.

Quick answer: Mojang's list of Minecraft Bedrock error codes has 61 named codes. Besides the seven in our Door and Terracotta guide, 14 point at something you can check on a server. Hopper means the world is full: raise max-players, which is 10 in a fresh Bedrock Dedicated Server (BDS). Evoker is a disconnect after idling: player-idle-timeout kicks idle players after 30 minutes by default, and 0 turns that off. Breeze means your server runs a newer version than the player. Kelp, Clay and Goat mean the client did not reach a running server. Rabbit is a resource pack problem, Panda a LAN server that was not found, Fox a blocked address. Sign-in codes such as Drowned, Cauldron and Glowstone are on the player's side, where Mojang's usual first step is to sign out of the Microsoft account and back in.

How to read a Bedrock error code

The error screen shows the label disconnectionScreen.errorCode=Error Code: from the game's language file, followed by the code word. The words are ordinary block and mob names there (Hopper is tile.hopper.name), so the meanings come only from Mojang's article Named Error Code Troubleshooting for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, last edited on 15 September 2026. Mojang does not publish which on-screen text goes with which code. The texts in the table below come from the 1.26.60.5 language file in Mojang's bedrock-samples repository, matched to the codes by meaning.

First check who is affected:

  • One player, and other servers fail for them too: their account, game version or network.
  • One player, only on your server: the allow-list, their version or your world's packs.
  • Every player: the server, its address or its ports.

Named error codes with a server side check

CodeMojang's meaningText in the language file
Hopper"The world you are trying to join is full."title.worldFull: "The World you are trying to join is full."
Evoker"You were disconnected from the server." Mojang adds: "This can happen if you were idle for too long."body.idleTooLong: "You have been idle for too long."
Armadillo, Bat, Feather, Snowball"You were disconnected from the server."noReason: "You have been disconnected"
Breeze"The world you're connecting to is newer than your Minecraft version."body.worldNewerVersion: "This world was made with a more recent version."
Kelp"Your connection timed out."title.connectionTimeout: "Connection timed out."
Clay"There was a problem finding the server."internalError.cantFindServer: "There was a problem finding this server."
Goat"The world you were in/trying to join is no longer available."sessionNotFound: "Unable to connect to world. The world is no longer available to join."
Silverfish"The server you're trying to join may not exist or be locked."body.serverNoneOrLocked: "The server you are attempting to join may not exist or be locked."
Rabbit"There was a resource pack issue."disconnect.downloadPack: "Error while downloading packs from server. Please try again."
Panda"A local server couldn't be found."title.localServerNotFound: "Local server not found."
Fox"The IP address you entered has been blocked."None found

Keys in the last column start with disconnectionScreen., except disconnect.downloadPack. The settings below live in server.properties; Mojang's setup article says to stop the server before you edit it. Defaults are from the file in BDS 1.26.61.1, the download Mojang offered on 3 November 2026, as reproduced on the Minecraft Wiki, which that article points to.

Error code Hopper: the server is full

A fresh BDS lets 10 players in at once. To allow more:

max-players=20

Microsoft's server.properties reference warns that "higher values have a performance impact", so raise it in steps. The /setmaxplayers command requires cheats and sets the limit only "for this game session", so put the number in the file. On a Realm, Hopper means the Realm is full: Mojang describes Realms as "for you plus up to 10 players at a time". On a Java server with Geyser, Bedrock players count toward the Java server's own max-players.

Error code Evoker and the other disconnect codes

Evoker is the one disconnect code Mojang explains, and the reason is idling. BDS kicks a player after player-idle-timeout idle minutes, 30 by default, and the shipped file adds: "If set to 0 then players can idle indefinitely." For AFK farms, switch the kick off:

player-idle-timeout=0

Armadillo, Bat, Feather and Snowball only say "You were disconnected from the server." Check the console for the moment the player dropped: a stop, crash or scheduled restart drops everyone at once. Then ask whether an operator, plugin or script used kick ("Kicks a player from the server." in the language file). If one player drops while the server keeps running, Mojang's general error code troubleshooting for their side starts with signing out, restarting and checking the connection.

Error code Breeze: your server is newer than the player

Breeze means the player's game is older than the world they join. On 3 November 2026 Mojang's download page offered BDS 1.26.61.1, so a server updated this week is ahead of any player whose game did not update. Usually the player updates: Mojang's unable to join article notes that a game "may not have automatically updated" and links manual update steps for consoles, Windows and mobile. Rule out two server side causes:

  • A Preview server. Mojang: "Use the regular game with a regular server, or Minecraft Preview with a Preview server." On 3 November the Preview BDS was 1.26.70.22.
  • Going back a version. Mojang: "Do not attempt to downgrade a world after opening it in a newer server version." Update the players instead.

The reverse case, a player newer than your server, is Chain, covered in the Door and Terracotta guide.

Error codes Kelp, Clay, Goat and Silverfish: no running server reached

For Kelp, Mojang says to "Check with your server/hosting player to make sure they're online." On your side:

  1. Is it running? Look at the console or panel. Goat ("no longer available") fits a server that stopped or restarted while players were joining.
  2. Is the address right? Players need your public address and the server-port, normally 19132. If you hand out a domain name, check with nslookup play.example.com that it resolves to the server's IP.
  3. Do TCP and UDP both reach it? Mojang's setup article calls server-port "The TCP port used for the HTTP signaling handshake", while server-udp-ports covers "gameplay traffic". Our Door and Terracotta guide has a curl test for the TCP part and the UDP fixes.

For Silverfish, Mojang says a privately hosted server "must be online with the Allow multiplayer games permission enabled." The 1.26.61.1 file also ships a commented out # allow-player-joining=true: "When set to 'false' players will not be able to join the server unless explicitly allowed by scripting". We could not confirm which code that shows.

On a Space-Node Minecraft server, every plan runs Bedrock directly or Java with Geyser, and you reach server.properties and the world folders through the web file manager or SFTP.

Error code Rabbit: a resource pack problem

Mojang's Rabbit fix is for players and Realm owners: disable add-ons one at a time. On your server, the packs belong to the world:

  • The world folder lists them in world_resource_packs.json and world_behavior_packs.json. Our Bedrock add-ons guide shows the format, Geyser servers included.
  • texturepack-required=true makes every player use them ("Force clients to use texture packs in the current world"). The default is false.
  • Let the server print pack errors, which the shipped file describes as "Enables logging content errors to stdout":
content-log-console-output-enabled=true

Take the newest pack out of the JSON file, restart, and test with one player. The language file also has a pack text about the player's device: "You are unable to join the world because your device doesn't have enough memory for the following packs".

Error code Panda: no local server found

Panda is a LAN code. With enable-lan-visibility=true, the default, Mojang says players on the same home network "may see the server automatically under the Friends or Servers tab". If not, add it on the Servers tab with the host's local IPv4 address, such as 192.168.1.25, and the server-port. If friends time out on a Windows host, Mojang's LAN article switches the network profile from Public to Private, but not on a public network you cannot trust.

Error code Fox: the address is blocked

First check the address for typos. If it is correct and every player gets Fox, no server.properties setting fixes it. Mojang's next step points to its article on reporting a server "for more information on blocked servers". That article lists behavior that goes against the Minecraft Usage Guidelines, such as gambling, pretending to be associated with Mojang or Microsoft, and redistributing game files; our EULA rules guide quotes what servers may sell.

Sign-in and account codes: nothing to change on the server

Most of the list is about the player's Microsoft account, platform or device. A player with one of these codes usually fails everywhere, and Mojang's steps are for them:

Axolotl, Bamboo, Elder Guardian, Guardian, GlowstoneIssue while signing inReset Your Microsoft Account Sign-in; for Glowstone also check the PlayFab and Xbox Live status pages
Ghast"There was an issue with your credentials."Sign out and restart; on Switch also Clear Account Credentials under Settings > Profile

For Blaze on a Realm, Mojang adds that the owner can close and reopen the Realm. The language file's text for the one device rule: "Cannot join world. The account you are signed in to is currently playing in this world on a different device."

FAQ

What is general error code troubleshooting for Minecraft Bedrock Edition? Mojang's checklist for codes without a fix of their own. Its steps include signing out and restarting the device, closing other programs, checking the connection, disabling add-ons, checking storage, matching the server's edition and version, and checking the PlayFab and Xbox Live status pages.

What does error code Hopper mean in Minecraft? The world or server is full. On a Bedrock Dedicated Server, raise max-players in server.properties (10 by default) and restart. On a Realm, the limit is the owner plus 10 players.

Why do players get kicked after 30 minutes on my Bedrock server? That is player-idle-timeout, 30 minutes by default, and Mojang ties idling to the Evoker code. Set it to 0 to turn the kick off.

Is a Bedrock error code my server's fault or the player's? If one player gets it on every server, it is on their side, and no server setting fixes sign-in codes such as Drowned, Cauldron or Glowstone. If every player gets it on your server, check the server: Hopper, Evoker, Kelp, Clay, Goat, Rabbit, Breeze and the Door group have a server side.

Why can PC players join my server but a console player cannot? Mojang's setup article says players need "account settings that permit multiplayer and cross-network play", and its unable to join article adds that consoles need Xbox Game Pass Core, PlayStation Plus or Nintendo Switch Online. A missing multiplayer permission is Spyglass. Mojang also notes that "some console versions may not display an Add Server button"; our console guide covers the ways around that.
