Is Roblox Down? How to Check Roblox Server Status (2026)

Check status.roblox.com and Roblox's X account first. How to tell a Roblox outage from a problem on your side, what the error codes point to and what to try.

To check whether Roblox is down, open Roblox's own status page at status.roblox.com: if it lists an incident for the part of Roblox you use, the problem is on Roblox's side and the fix is to wait. If it says All Systems Operational and Roblox still fails, check Roblox's account on X, @Roblox, and then whether the problem is one game, one device or one connection, because those point to a cause on your side.

Roblox's help center sends you to the same two places in its article What happens when Roblox is down?. Everything below comes from Roblox's status page and help center, checked on 25 October 2026.

What status.roblox.com shows

The page splits Roblox into three groups and marks every part as Operational, or with the state of an incident:

GroupParts on the page
UserWebsite, Mobile App, Xbox App, Avatar
PlayerWebsite, Mobile App, Xbox App, Games, Avatar
CreatorWebsite, Games, Studio, Asset Delivery, Data Store, Game Join, Avatar, Dashboard, Talent, Documentation, Forum, Marketplace

Match the line to what fails for you: Games and Game Join for experiences that will not load, Website or Mobile App for the site and the app, Studio for building.

The history page lists past incidents by month, with times in Pacific time. The two most recent when we checked show the range. A "Site issue" on 5 October 2026 was marked as degraded performance for users, players and creators, identified at 16:04 PDT and resolved at 16:13. "Studio publish issues" on 28 September 2026 ran from 16:05 to 19:18 PDT and closed with the note "You may need to restart your Studio client."

What happens during an outage

Roblox's help center lists three things you may notice while Roblox has a problem or runs maintenance:

  • Joining an experience "may be delayed or unsuccessful". Roblox's advice is to "wait for a few moments and try again".
  • The website, the platform or the apps may lag or respond slowly.
  • Purchases may arrive late, including Robux spent on the site or inside an experience. Roblox says all completed purchases will be applied: "In most cases products are applied within the hour and at most within 24 hours."

So do not buy the same item twice when it does not show up during an outage. Give it the 24 hours Roblox names first.

Roblox or you: five quick checks

  1. The status page. An incident on status.roblox.com for your part of Roblox settles it.
  2. Roblox on X. For maintenance and service news, Roblox's help center points to its website notifications and its social media, and its list of official channels names @Roblox on X. That list has no separate status account, so an account calling itself Roblox status is not one Roblox lists.
  3. One experience or all of them. If other experiences load and one does not, that experience is the problem: its servers, a recent update, a broken script or a creator who took it offline. Roblox's connection article says a broken experience can only be repaired by its creator, and for error 524 Roblox suggests checking the game's own social media or community pages.
  4. Another connection. Roblox's error pages tell you to try "a different source of internet connection". Switch your phone from Wi-Fi to mobile data, or plug a PC in with a cable. If Roblox works there, the problem is your network or your provider. Roblox recommends at least 4 to 8 Mb/s for one person (requirements).
  5. Another device or the website. If roblox.com works in a browser but the app does not, or the other way round, the app or the browser on that device is the problem.

What Roblox error codes point to

No error code says "Roblox is down" on its own. Errors 277 and 279 mean the app and a game server could not make or keep a connection, which can fail on either side, so check the status page before you reinstall anything. These are the codes on Roblox's error code page, with Roblox's own explanation:

CodeWhat Roblox says it meansWhere to look
264The same account joined the same game from more than one deviceYour other devices
266The connection timed out because of low bandwidth or internet speedYour connection
267, 600The experience's creator banned you; the ban is not issued by RobloxThe experience's creator
268Kicked for unexpected client behaviour: network issues, or apps such as antivirus interferingYour network and security software
270Lost connection to a Team Create session in StudioStudio
277Lost connection to the game serverYour connection, then the status page
279 / ID 17Failed to connect to the gameYour connection and firewall, then the status page
280Your version of Roblox may be out of dateUpdate Roblox
403The app launched from the website failed to start properlyBrowser data, extensions and VPNs
524No permission to join, for example a private server you were not invited toYour privacy settings, the server owner or the game's status
Failed to load libraryA Windows system file Roblox needs is missing, corrupted or blockedYour device

Roblox is explicit about the last one: it is "a client-side issue, which means the problem is with your device and not with Roblox servers."

If Roblox is up but not for you

Work through these in order. They come from Roblox's articles on general connection problems, website issues, antivirus and third-party apps and the error codes above.

  1. Restart the app and the device. Close Roblox completely, then turn the device off and on again.
  2. Check the firewall and antivirus. Roblox's connection article says connection trouble is "very frequently a firewall problem". Allow Roblox through, and if your security software flagged a Roblox file, mark it as a false positive. On Windows, Roblox keeps its files in C:\Users\<your name>\AppData\Local\Roblox.
  3. Check the ports. Roblox uses the UDP port range 49152 to 65535 and says keeping those ports open lets it connect through your router. If you cannot change that yourself, Roblox suggests asking your internet provider.
  4. Fix the date and time on phones, tablets and Chromebooks. Roblox's steps for error 277 include checking the device's date and time, which keeps it "in sync with the servers".
  5. Clear browser data and switch off extensions. For website problems Roblox suggests clearing the browser cache and cookies and disabling add-ons, ad blockers in particular. For error 403 it also says to switch off VPNs.
  6. Update or reinstall Roblox. Error 280 means an outdated version. For a clean reinstall on Windows, uninstall Roblox, delete the Roblox folder in %localappdata%, restart and install it again.
  7. Contact Roblox support. If nothing works, Roblox support asks for your username, the exact error message, your device model, your operating system version and the steps that lead to the problem.

FAQ

Is Roblox down right now? This page cannot show live status. Open status.roblox.com, where Roblox shows the state of every part of the platform.

How long do Roblox outages last? There is no typical length. The last two incidents on Roblox's status page were open for 9 minutes (a site issue on 5 October 2026) and a little over three hours (Studio publishing on 28 September 2026).

Will a VPN or a cloud PC get me in while Roblox is down? No. During an outage the problem is on Roblox's side, and a VPN or a cloud PC still connects to the same Roblox services. Roblox's own advice during an outage is to wait a few moments and try again, and it lists switching VPNs off among its fixes for error 403.

Why does only one Roblox game not work? Usually because of that experience, not Roblox. Creators can restart servers when they update a game, and a creator can take an experience offline; our guide on why Roblox disconnects explains how those restarts work. Error 524 means you have no permission for that server, and 267 or 600 mean its creator banned you.

My Robux purchase did not arrive during the outage. What now? Wait first. Roblox says completed purchases are applied, in most cases within the hour and at most within 24 hours. If it is still missing after that, contact Roblox support.
