Modded Rust servers
Every Rust plan supports Oxide, also called uMod, so you can run a modded server from the first day: 2x, 5x or 10x gather rates, custom loot tables, teleport and shop plugins, economy plugins and anti-cheat tools. Install plugins from the control panel or upload them over SFTP, and add custom maps from sites like RustMaps the same way.
Plugins need RAM on top of the map and the players, so size the plan for both. The plan lineup follows that: SULFUR (24GB RAM, 180 slots, €20.50 a month) is meant for active modded servers and BUILDING PLAN (40GB, 300 slots, €30.90) for heavy modding and large maps. After a Rust update, plugins can stop working until Oxide and the plugin authors ship new versions, so check them before you open the server again.
Step by step: installing uMod plugins, 20 popular Oxide plugins and updating plugins after a wipe.

Your Rust Server Deserves Better Than Generic Game Hosting
Rust pushes servers harder than almost any other game. Here is what happens when your host cannot keep up:
Entities Spike, Server Freezes
Rust servers push hardware hard: thousands of entities, base decay calculations, and AI pathing running nonstop. Budget hosts hit their limits fast and your server grinds to a halt mid-raid.
Wipe Day Crashes
Monthly wipes bring a flood of players all at once. If your host can't handle the surge, players get disconnected, bases don't load, and your community loses faith.
DDoS Hits During Peak Hours
Rust servers are prime DDoS targets. Without proper protection, one attack takes your entire server offline and your player base moves to the competition.
What Every Rust Plan Includes
1. Instant Rust Server Deployment
Go from purchase to playable in minutes. Pre-configured Rust server with Oxide/uMod ready to install, no manual setup required.
2. Optimized for High Entity Counts
Our hardware handles massive bases, raid events, and 200+ player servers without dropping tick rate. Built for how Rust actually runs.
3. Nine Regions, Netherlands First
Our main Rust location is the Netherlands, connected to AMS-IX, next to Germany, Poland, Canada, the USA, Singapore, India and Australia. The plan selector measures your ping to each region except India from your browser.
4. Scales With Your Community
Start small and upgrade seamlessly as your server grows. No data loss, no downtime, just more power when you need it.
5. NVMe SSD Storage
Enterprise NVMe SSDs keep map loads, saves and wipe-day restarts quick, even on large custom maps.
6. Game-Grade DDoS Protection
Enterprise anti-DDoS filtering tuned for game server traffic. Your Rust server stays online even under attack.
7. Full Oxide/uMod & Plugin Support
Install any Oxide or uMod plugin directly from the control panel. Run vanilla, modded, or custom Rust experiences with zero restrictions.
Your Rust Server, Live in 3 Simple Steps
Step 1: Pick the Right Rust Hosting Plan
Whether you need a small vanilla server for friends, a modded 2x server for your clan, or a 200-slot public server, we have a plan that fits. All plans include Oxide/uMod support and DDoS protection.
Step 2: Instant Setup & Secure Access
Your server deploys within minutes. Access everything through a secure browser-based panel: install plugins, upload maps, configure server settings, and manage RCON. No SSH or command-line skills needed.
Step 3: Go Live & Grow Your Community
Publish your server to the Rust server browser, invite your players, and start building. Your server keeps running between sessions, and you handle wipes from the panel.

FAQs
- Yes. Pick Australia (Sydney) or Singapore in the plan selector. Both cost the same as our European servers, from €10.20 a month for 8 GB RAM. Servers there run on a shared AMD Ryzen 9 5950X with NVMe storage and DDoS protection. For New Zealand, Sydney is our closest location; for Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam it is Singapore.
- Rust dedicated server hosting gives you a private, high-performance server running 24/7 specifically for the Rust survival game. The RAM in your plan is reserved for your server and the CPU is shared with other servers on the node. Rust's entity system, AI and player load lean on single-core speed, which is why every plan runs on AMD Ryzen 9.
- Yes. All Rust hosting plans fully support Oxide and uMod. Install plugins directly from the control panel: gathering rate mods, teleport systems, shop plugins, anti-cheat tools, and thousands more.
- It depends on your plan. Our Stone plan comfortably handles small groups of 50 players. The Hammer plan supports 200+ concurrent players with heavy modding and large map sizes. We recommend matching your plan to your expected peak player count.
- Instant deployment: your Rust server is online within minutes of payment. You can start installing plugins and configuring settings right away.
- Yes. A rented server keeps running when everyone logs off, so your world is there whenever players join, and every plan includes DDoS protection.
- Rust has mandatory monthly map wipes (forced wipes) on the first Thursday of each month. To wipe, stop the server, delete the .map and .sav files in the file manager (plus player.blueprints.*.db for a blueprint wipe), change the seed if you want a new map and start it again. Your server configuration and plugins stay in place. Blueprint wipes are optional and up to you as the admin.
- Absolutely. All plans support modded servers with Oxide/uMod. Run 2x, 5x, 10x gather rates, custom loot tables, Rust:IO live maps, economics plugins, and any combination of mods you want.
- Yes. Our Stone plan starts at just €10.20/month with solid hardware for small groups and learning server administration. You can upgrade anytime as your community grows, with no data loss.
- Key factors: 1) Keep the entity count in check, for example with an entity limit plugin. 2) Use a reasonable map size (3000-4500 for most servers). 3) Schedule regular restarts. 4) Check the server frame rate with the fps console command. 5) Use quality plugins that don't create excessive overhead. Our hardware is tuned for Rust's single-threaded architecture. Check our Rust performance guide for detailed optimization tips.
- Our primary Rust servers are hosted in our Netherlands datacenter in Hengelo with direct AMS-IX connectivity. We also offer servers in Germany, Poland, Canada, USA (California), USA (Virginia), Singapore, India, and Australia. The plan selector measures your ping to each region except India from your browser, so you can pick the closest one before you order. Contact us for more details.
- Yes. Upload custom Rust maps via the control panel or SFTP. Set map size, seed values, and use procedurally generated or hand-crafted custom maps from sites like RustMaps. Our NVMe storage ensures fast map loading even for large custom worlds.
- On any website, as long as the image has its own direct link. Set server.headerimage to that link, for example https://yourname.nl/serverimage.jpg, and server.url to the address of your website. Facepunch's server guide lists both settings as optional. Our web hosting, from €2.49 a month, puts the image and your website on your own domain.
- For servers with 100 to 200+ players, our Hammer plan provides the most resources: 48GB of RAM and 200GB of NVMe storage. Combined with our DDoS protection and Netherlands location, it handles peak wipe-day loads and large-scale raids without performance drops.
- Our enterprise DDoS protection filters malicious traffic before it reaches your server. It is specifically tuned for game server protocols, blocking volumetric floods and application-layer attacks while allowing legitimate player connections through without added latency.
- Yes. Upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time without losing your world data, plugins, or configuration. The transition is seamless with minimal downtime.
