Rust Twitch drops round 54 is running now. It is called Base Invaders, Rustoria hosts it, and it lasts from Friday 23 October 2026 at 18:00 UTC until Sunday 1 November 2026 at 23:59 UTC. Five general drops unlock with 1 to 5 hours of watch time on any drops-enabled Rust stream, and one streamer drop, a Backpack, takes 30 minutes on the TwitchRivals channel. Link your Steam and Twitch accounts at twitch.facepunch.com first, or your watch time will not turn into items.

A streamer drop only counts on that streamer's channel, and only while the channel is live with drops enabled. The Streamer Drops list on the official page shows which channel gives which item, so look there before you pick a stream.
The round before this one, round 53 (Rust Isles, also hosted by Rustoria), ran from 24 September to 4 October 2026 with 22 drops. Facepunch's wiki is clear about rounds that are over: if you missed a round, or did not reach the watch time before it ended, there is no other way to get those drops.
What Twitch drops are
Twitch drops are free Rust skins that you earn by watching Rust streams on Twitch during a drops round. General drops come from any participating stream, streamer drops from one named creator. According to Facepunch's wiki, skins earned on Twitch are bound to your account and cannot be traded or sold. You need to own Rust on Steam to receive them.
You do not need Twitch Prime. Facepunch's FAQ asks for a Twitch account and a Steam account that has Rust in its library, nothing more.
Step 1: link your accounts
- Go to twitch.facepunch.com and press Connect Account.
- Sign in with Twitch.
- Sign in with Steam.
- Wait for the confirmation that both accounts are paired.
Without this link, watch time has nowhere to go. If one of your accounts is already linked to a different account, sign in with that one first and unlink it, then link the pair you want. Facepunch's wiki also lists setting your profile to Online as one of the steps.
Step 2: watch eligible streams
Open a Rust stream that carries the Drops Enabled tag. Twitch's Rust directory can filter on that tag, and the official page links straight to the filtered list. Keep the stream playing while it is live and stay signed in to Twitch.
Watching two streams at once does not help. Facepunch: "you will only be eligible to receive a drop for one active channel at a time." Your progress towards each drop shows in the Twitch Drops Inventory.
Step 3: claim your drops
When a drop unlocks, press Claim in your Twitch Drops Inventory. The item then goes to the Steam account you linked. Facepunch says it can take up to 10 minutes after you press Claim before it shows up in your Steam inventory, and from there in Rust.
Claim each drop as soon as it unlocks rather than leaving a stack for the last evening of the round.
General drops vs streamer drops
General drops are the easy ones: every drops-enabled Rust stream counts towards them, so you can watch whoever you like. Streamer drops need that specific channel, which makes them harder to time when the channel only goes live for an event. This round has one, the TwitchRivals Backpack.
Fixing drops that do not appear
Work through these in order:
- Check that you pressed Claim in the Twitch Drops Inventory. An earned drop that was never claimed does not reach Steam.
- Give it 10 minutes, then restart Rust and look again.
- Still nothing after 30 minutes? Facepunch says your Steam account "may not have been linked to your Twitch account when you claimed the drop". Link the accounts at the top of twitch.facepunch.com and press Check for Missing Drops.
- Already linked and still missing items? The wiki's advice is to unlink both accounts and link them again.
- Make sure the stream you watched had the Drops Enabled tag, and for a streamer drop, that it was the right channel.
Bought Rust after claiming?
That works. Facepunch: as long as you claimed the drops, you can get them after buying Rust "within 180 days". They do not appear by themselves: link your accounts on twitch.facepunch.com and press Check for Missing Drops. Drops claimed more than 180 days ago expire.
