Berries are a core part of Cobblemon's economy and battle system. They heal Pokemon, boost stats, and influence breeding outcomes. This guide covers where to find berries, how to farm them, and how berry mutations work in 2026.
Where to find berries
Berries spawn naturally in the Cobblemon world. Different biomes produce different berry types. Oran Berries appear in most temperate biomes, while rare berries like Sitrus and Lum spawn in specific conditions.
You can also get berries from:
- Wild Pokemon drops (some Pokemon drop berries when defeated).
- NPC shops if your server has a Cobblemon economy.
- Berry trees that regenerate over time.
How to farm berries
Plant a berry on farmland or grass to start a berry tree. The tree grows through stages and eventually produces berries you can harvest. After harvesting, the tree stays and produces more berries on a timer.
Key farming tips:
- Plant berries in the correct biome for the best yield.
- Water nearby (within 4 blocks) speeds growth on some server configs.
- Bone meal does not work on berry trees by default.
- Berry trees can be broken by other players, so protect your farm with claims.
Berry effects in battle
- Oran Berry: restores 10 HP when the Pokemon drops below 50%.
- Sitrus Berry: restores 25% max HP.
- Lum Berry: cures any status condition.
- Cheri/Rawst/Aspear: cure specific status conditions (paralysis, burn, freeze).
- Stat berries (Liechi, Ganlon, etc.): boost a stat when HP is low.
Held berries trigger automatically in battle, so equipping the right berry for the matchup is a real competitive advantage.
Berry breeding and mutations
When you plant two different berry types next to each other, there is a chance of a mutation producing a new berry type. This is how you get rare berries that do not spawn naturally.
Common mutation paths:
- Cheri + Oran can produce Leppa.
- Rawst + Aspear can produce Persim.
- Specific combinations produce EV-reducing berries.
Check the Cobblemon wiki for the full mutation table, as it updates with new Cobblemon versions. Server owners can configure mutation rates in the Cobblemon config.
Server-side berry configuration
As a server admin, you can control berry mechanics in the Cobblemon config:
- Spawn rates per biome.
- Growth speed multiplier.
- Mutation chance.
- Maximum berries per tree.
Adjusting these values helps balance the server economy and prevents berry inflation.
The short answer
Find berries in the wild or from Pokemon drops, plant them to start a farm, and use berry mutations to grow rare types. Equip the right berries for battles and protect your farm with claims.
